Was it ahead of its time? I never saw it back then, should I give it a try now?
Was it ahead of its time? I never saw it back then, should I give it a try now?
It's still ahead of it's time
It dabbed on Hollywood cucks being full of shit before it was considered acceptable, so yes it was ahead of its time
Very funny movie. You can also tell it was released before Iraq went to total shit.
>kiss me! kiss me!
It kind of called it though. The whole idea is to show how ridiculous the idea is of Team America: World police fucking up a dictatorship and having everything turn out great. That's literally the plot of the movie.
Such a great movie. Always rewatchable
it's kino
The existence of a movie made with puppets over actors tells you all you need to know about how enjoyable it is working in Hollywood if your not a cunt.
its amazing to think the same people who made team america made the newer seasons of south park.
Matt and Trey are so out of touch now that they've become the very things they mocked in team america.
>Was it ahead of its time?
for sure. the parody of celebrities and highlighting how out of touch, crazy and conceited they all are was true at the time and is even more true now.
Funny in its own right, a million times more funny if you've seen Michael Bay/Jerry Bruckheimer films because it nails the parody so successfully.
It's still funny but its political message doesn't hold up at all
>Matt and Trey are so out of touch now that they've become the very things they mocked in team america.
I think they're acutely aware of that, it's a big reason why South Park is so lazy now, they barely give any input
>its political message doesn't hold up at all
But the message is that while Americans might be dicks they need to exist to fuck assholes, that still holds true today
>Matt and Trey are so out of touch now that they've become the very things they mocked in team america.
i was just thinking about that when i was watching some clips of the film actors guild on youtube just now. there's no way they'd make that film now and i imagine they probably feel embarrassed they made it
It was at the height of the Iraq War
>its amazing to think the same people who made team america made the newer seasons of south park.
>made the newer seasons of south park.
They made them all??
It is unironically one of the best movies every made, and one of the few old school comedies that gets genuine belly laughs out of me, its perfectly parodic and absurd and uses the puppetry to great effect, I can damn near quote the entire movie and I'm a fucking simp who can't remember shit, that's how good it is.
Smart ass motherfucker
The movie was and still is and will always be incredible. How is it that it's political message doesn't hold up? Now more than ever the world is full of pussies and assholes.
suck my cock, gary
>Matt Damon is portrayed as a simpleton who can only say his own name. When asked about the film in 2016, Matt stated that he was confused by the portrayal, given that he was already known as both 'a screenwriter and an actor':
>"I was always bewildered by that, and I never talked to Trey and Matt about that. And incidentally, I believe those two are geniuses, and I don't use that word lightly. I think they are absolute geniuses, and what they've done is awesome and I'm a big fan of theirs, but I never quite understood that one"
Durka durka. Mohammed jihad
Wasn't it because the Matt Damon doll was looking utterly retarded and someone yelled MAT DEMEN and they left it?
Muhammad jihad, muhammad ali.
yes retard the two arent mutually exclusive. The older seasons of south park are good.
Yeah something like that
You seem angry
i can never not laugh at the way he says that
I feel the same way with the blonde one after the cosmetic surgery.
>It's- It's uncanny.
“The puppet came out of the oven looking retarded so we went with it”
