Looking for series (dont watch movies anymore since most are shit in recent years) that are a kin to : the OA Legion Maniac Lodge49 Dispatches from elsewhere
These are some of my favorite series, i like mystical/spiritual vibes it invokes, self-inquiry etc
Also not my preference but can settle for some good scifi Last i enjoyed Westworld, devs, expanse
It seems shameful to put the OA on the same list as Dispatches from elsewhere. Dispatches felt like someone watched the OA, didn't understand anything that was below the surface and then tried to make their own version of it.

By the way, 'Undone' is considered to be the spiritual successor to The OA. It is far more simplistic but it is a fun ride from start to finish with some self reflection. It's a bit more traditional TV wise aside from the way its filmed, which is the entire thing being rotoscoped / animated over filmed actors.
How come ? are you sure you;re not projecting personal opinion too much , they're completely unrelated and do their own thing.Dispatches is based on irl game
Henry Miller
>How come ? Becuase it tries to capture the mood and makes use of minority characters, but unlike The OA it doesn't stem from a strong philosophy told through metaphor. Instead they make those minority characters and define them by their minority status, ie the tranny having a plot about being a tranny instead of letting her exist in her own story where she just happens to be one. The whole thing is a wish fulfillment that a man would have feelings for him and he gets to play like he is simultaneously too broken for a relationship but stable enough to be able to say that
>are you sure you;re not projecting personal opinion too much Isn't that literally what any personal opinion is? I'm not saying they watched the OA and then made the show, i said it felt like that, because thats as close as the similarities come, the surface level.
Grayson Hill
Dirk Gently
Elijah Perez
Devs
Blake Bennett
Well for a tranny being a tranny is probably the most important aspect lol, i love how it pointed out that transition didnt change anything as most trans think it would make them happy. But u are looking at it at a surface level. You have missed a lot of occult details which add to this show. Going beyond the roles of ones identity to relate to others experience as a witnessing awareness rather than participant, the mystery of going beyond the mundane world, Clara imposing blissful inner reality over dead and dull outer to create small oasis of escape from the real. There are many bits to enjoy.
>You have missed a lot of occult details which add to this show. what did you say before about projecting personal opinions?
by all means, enjoy your pozzed version of the oa though.

True Detective Season 1 and maybe Season 2.
Oliver Robinson
The Prisoner it's the granddaddy of all the shows you mentioned, and it's mint
Thomas Long
This and Twin Peaks (and maaaaaybe Maniac) are the only genuinely good and original shows mentioned in this thread.
Jaxon Moore
No, The Prisoner and Utopia. OP already mentioned Maniac, and TP is another subgenre.

Literally occult symbols You are focusing too much on tranny ep Clara episode was the best and octavio was great as well . There is much in there if you know how to look. OA and Dispatches are quite different , you are looking at surface level mystery without diving into it yeah s1 was is one of my tops but second not so much
