does he know he's a below-average comedian? like female-tier funny. also, anyone notice how the contemporary comedians he looks up to are even worse than him? like joey diaz? the fuck?

this outfit alone is funnier than any of his stand up routines
Yes that’s why he focuses on the podcast and MMA thing
Uh actually comedians are the greatest philosophers and extremely important thinkers who mold the zeitgeist while also representing the realest of ideas
Joe Rogan is a modern day Socrates with the divine prospects of Pythagoras.
yeah he's so cool imagine if you could smoke a blunt with him haha
Nobody watches him for standup. People watch him for the podcast and MMA
you just sont understand the craft of comedy and the work ethic to takes to succeed
>Nobody watches him for standup.
i think they watch his standup because he's a celebrity
the dude is dumb as dogshit but he is at least somewhat aware of it. That's why he is pretty open minded and will listen to what people have to say and has good follow up questions. It makes him a good listener, which makes him a good interviewer, which makes people like his podcast.
He’s one of the smartest men on the planet.
The problem is he tries to do a Bill Burr shouty ranty style of stand up, when that isn't his real personality, it's an act.
We see Joe for hours at a time chill as fuck and cracking the odd joke with his guests/buddies then on stage he's totally different.
With Bill on any podcasts we see it's his normal personality and he just turns the dial up when on stage but it's still him.
Basically he needs to change his stand up style, there's plenty of comedians that Joe would be better off trying to emulate because they would be closer to his real personality.
>what do you mean weed doesnt cure every disease?
>jamie pull up confirmation bias
Bill seems like a bitter old man.
He obviously is. I feel like any hangout with him would turn into some kind of argument unless you're able to get drunk and agree with whatever he has to say.
I don’t think we need to offer concessions to someone that is outwardly aggressive to everyone they meet. Shun the mother fucker.
What was his last good episode?
Jamie pull up that video of OP being a faggot.
he's a comedian?
He's an angry drunk and just shouts over everyone. Kinda funny at first but it gets old after about 5 minutes.
>you just sont understand the craft of comedy and the work ethic to takes to succeed
what on earth does this have to do with whether or not he's funny?
dang this take sounds pretty spot on
No. He thinks he is funny. He thinks chair humping and shining light on obvious stupidity are funny. His concepts are only understood by him in shallows, and he tries to plunge them for depth. He such a stumpy fuck fr bottoming out on his own notions. He needs a Jamie on stage, and lacks one. All of his comedian buddies are too afraid of him to be honest. Indeed, few of them are actually funny, and all are overexposed.
>it's a "joe invites a comedian onto the podcast and every single joke the guest makes goes over his head" episode
there are so many of these. someone will make an obvious joke and he will respond completely deadpan serious as if it's a statement meant to be taken literally. it's so bizarre.
The first step to wisdom is admitting ignorance.
He is, and he does bitter old man jokes. It works for a while until the novelty wears off.
>"The lovely Nia, everyone!"
>legitimate, lengthy argument about a somewhat serious topic ensues between them
I really want a good comedian to just fucking mog him like he did Schaub with fighting.
A real clever one too. Just kinda put him in his place. Burr would definitely be the one to do it. “What the fuck is this? Philosophizing shit? We aren’t philosophers. We make fuckin jokes. We get paid for it. Come on”
The thing I hate the most is when the comedians try to obviously steer the conversation in a particular way so they can set themselves up for a joke and Joe keeps interrupting and changing the subject.
It's painful sometimes knowing we are having some actual comedy taken away from us before we even get the chance to hear it.
Anyway, day what you want about Joe, but he can at least claim to be a below average comedian, Brendan Shaub on the other hand is brutal, we need Joe to have another intervention like when he ended his MMA career.
>talk some shit to a crowd of drunks for half an hour every other day
>work ethic
lmao-ing @ your perception of life
you wanna see work ethic? go look at the dudes who work on an off shore oil rig
youtube.com
In case any newfags have never seen this
He's not aware of it, he just decides that he is an expert in certain subjects (when he's not) and starts spouting opinions about it. Then people, that are educated in the mentioned fields, go on his reddit, go on twitter, etc and call him an idiot.
So then he backtracks in the next podcast by saying
>don't listen to me I'm an idiot
>i dont know what i'm talking about
But then he does it again.
This is what needs to happen to Joe with his comedy.
I didn't even know he was meant to be a comedian. He's more like a generic interviewer/conversationist than anything else.
