I had this guy in class that hated me, he used to put his rubbish in my bag and kick the back of my shoe. I was feeling pretty bad and scared to go to school and the teacher informed me it was because i'm white and privleged. I'd go to his office and he'd fill me in on intergenerational truama (his dad was black and had left him and his mum when he was young) I felt dumb doing it because he was white but I apologised to him eventually not realising the privlege i possesed over him. He seemed cool with it, I'd give him half my lunch everyday since he said he didn't get any. Fridays we bonded because that was my lunch money day and we'd go to the canteen together. Eventually he got a gf and they went together instead. He was still kind of a dick to me then year 11 and 12 it was like i was invisible and he didn't talk to me anymore. You can change the way people feel about you and stop them from hating you. You just need to be the better person and put the work in.
