So guys what did you think of the movie?

So guys what did you think of the movie?
>yeah was pretty inspiring dude
>Belfort was a HERO in that movie
>fuck I wanna make some money now

Why are normies so retarded

I didnt like it. They just kept adding more and more of the same stuff.

Explain how he isn't a hero

test

It's a testament to excess. I mean that both as a positive and a negative
Good film overall though

the only good film scorcese has put out

It’s basically Goodfellas, but with the REAL gangsters

he ruined the lives of thousands

you either live long enough to see yourself become a criminal, or you die a simp

They shouldn't have give him free money then

They deserved it for being gullable. Penny stocks? Come on. You might as well invest in chainlink

true

Since Marty's birth, there's been a continuous and slow degradation of morals. Marty likes making films about morality, but the problem is that showing Taxi Driver to audiences in 1976, people knew enough about what's good and bad to see the film and go "damn that bad man is scary". Seeing the Wolf of Wall Street, since people can't tell good from bad any more, they look at it and see a man making money. In a more subtle way, maybe Marty is making a commentary on how capitalist indoctrination makes us immune to the horrors of exploitation.

It's one of those movies that I liked when I saw but disliked when thinking back on them.

it's not subtle, the 'sell me this pen' scene at the end is pretty blatant in that it's talking directly to the audience

4channel is the new normiest shit there is user.

Margot Robbie showed her boobs, butt, and pussy in the movie, so I liked it

I enjoyed living vicariously as a debauched multi-millionaire, it was fun.
Belfort was smalltime in the grand scheme of things, people who bought into his schemes deserved it.
The Big Short, however, shows you probably the greatest criminals in cinema history, and they didn't even go to tennis prison like Belfort.

she didn't show her pussy

It's Scorsese's fault for glamourising him and his lifestyle so much

>he saw the american version
cringe

>capitalist indoctrination makes us immune to the horrors of exploitation
ok commie

To earn millions

the humor didn't age well desu

Terrible bait but fine,
He literally beat his wife and kidnapped his child.
He runs a shitty conservative podcast now.
If he was a hero, he wouldn't have left his wife

As a socialist I love this movie.

Yeah but it would be outright lying if it didnt show the glamour. He did have a wild time and fucked insanely hot women and ripped off thousands and and he did fucking get away with it all just because he's rich.
That's the system we live in.
We throw away morality for that glamour. Now if you commit violent seedy crime for riches it will eventually catch up to you like Scorsese's other films show. But guys like Jordan Belfort? The fellas at Goldman Sachs? Jeff Bezos? At most they get a slap on the wrist. Its legitimatized crime.

>a single critique of capitalism

COMMIE!!!!

Jesus, are all yanks bootlickers for billionaires?

Is this some kind of redditor parody post?

Do The big short explain the background of those guys ? Like what degree or college they attended? How they think and process things ?

the scene at the very end is pretty blatant about the message of the movie.

If it wasn't for Taxi driver and King of comedy, I'd consider Scorsese a below average director.
