i remember buying some $600 lcd monitor and thinking with my tv tuner it would make the best big flat tv. it said on the dell website it had intense brightness and contrast with all these figures.

I don't plan on gaming on a TV. So it would be nice if I could save some money by getting one that has a low refresh rate and no freesync, but it seems all high-quality TVs are going for good gaming specs as well. Sigh. I can't research tech without concluding that I have to go into hibernation for a few years before I can get what I want.

My monitor is a TV because they don't make 40"+ 4K monitors.
