What are the best Dostoyevsky adaptations?
which one is Kikuchiyo
L'amour Braque
The one on the right
How are the other Zulawski films? I've only seen Possession and TTPotN
Isabelle Adjani is so qt
Does the chick that created all these images for an art project know that they became a meme?
MFW I download Naruse's filmography
Probably
They're all pretty ridicolous, but they also encompass a wide variety of genres.
Boris Godunov is an opera, On the Silver Globe is a hard sci/fi, L'amour Braque is a heist movie.
After L'amour Braque flopped he lost a bit of financial support and his films suffered for it imo.
The Devil, On the Silver Globe, and L'amour Braque are my favorite of his. La Femme Publique and L'important c'est d'aimer are also quite accessible.
Most copies of his films are still DVD quality, because his death led to some retards landing the screening rights or whatever.
If you have watched about 50 Japanese Post-war films you will appreciate Kurosawa's The Idiot. It is possibly one of the best casts, maybe together with Tokyo Twilight.
>tfw watching Satantango as Morton Feldman's Second String Quartet plays in the background
Lads...
Imamura's films often have nice women. Sachiko Hidari is cute in The Insect Woman (1963) and her boobs are shown. The large curvy chick in Intentions of Murder (1964) is hot in a really primal way. Jitsuko Yoshimura does something for me in Pigs and Battleships (1961), and Vengeance Is Mine (1979) has a really hot woman with huge tits and a big ass.
Why do you sully Mihaly Vig's score with some other music? I don't get it
I've seen Kurosawa's adaptations. Are there any other contenders?
OK, I'll explore his stuff further soon
The House of the Dead (1932)
Never heard of this. Thanks
Vig is the most underrated European film composer
If you can't find it, here it is rutracker.org
Thanks. I usually just use VK for Russian stuff tho
>Tokyo Twilight
damn that's a good movie I need to rewatch it soon
Is it an art project? I thought it was just some crazy girl obsessed with making her models look as "perfect" as possible, including her own boyfriend. The fact that she barely photoshopped herself led me to believe it was just a weird ego thing.
I actually think it's one of Ozu's best. It's also his darkest film next to S Hen in the Wind
*A Hen in the Wind
Sleek n Tears is the greatest Russian contribution to human culture since Tarkovsky
I was searching youtube for Chisuu Ryu's interview in Tokyo-Ga and noticed that someone upload Tokyo Twilight. It has few views, I'm sure it will be deleted soon.
A Hen in the Wind is probably one of few the Ozu films I don't feel like rewatching.
People upload stuff to YT and it gets scrubbed all the time. Last week Tarr's entire filmography was on YT.
How come?
Btw a decent quality rip of On the Silver Globe as well as Letters from a Dead Man are streaming for free on Exmilitary
What's the best non-Tarkovsky Soviet film?
For me, a tie between Sayat Nova and Letters from a Dead Man I think
To avoid spoilers what happens with the wife, is something I just wouldn't be able to tolerate. There's sadness in most Ozu films but this is too much for me.
Cranes are flying.
on what now?
Make penis move up and down, back and forth non-stop
First time I see someone being disturbed by an Ozu film. Not calling you a pussy or anything, it's just strange to see. How do you feel about Mizoguchi and Naruse? They're usually more depressing
Somebody got one of their discord janny boyfriends to do a hit job. Bad thread out. Uh-uh
>Anyone has advice on how to watch movies? I sometimes feel like I'm just working my way through a ever expanding To-do list, without giving myself time to process the movie. The other day I watched the same movie twice and while watching it the 2nd time I realized I wasn't paying attention to anything the first time. I hate this bulimia-like binge watching, but then again, there are so many films I want to watch.
For this user, I'd recommend taking breaks and maybe going through special features or something so you can really indulge yourself in the movie and its art
Also, another user said 1 movie a day works for him
There are very few films that truly bother me, if my wife had to fuck a stranger for money to save my son, I wouldn't really know how to react.
are
are the other films quite bleak?
