so what is the most proper reason to hate this?
>its gonna get mogged hard by the already-subpar 1984 adaptation
>its visibly pozzed and we were betrayed by Denis "formerly based" Vaudevillian
>its trying way too hard to ape existing and current cinema trends such as the love for Kylo Ren-type characters, A24 aesthetics, and popular-because-of-Disney actors
DUNC hate thread
DUNC bad
Its gonna be another 2049 and all you negative nancys will be praising it.
can't wait till all these twitter fags find out that all the black cast characters have like 2 minutes of screentime max and almost all of them get killed and/or lead by a white male lmao
WHAT! you CAN'T be SERIOUS!?! That's it, I'm texting up my gal-pals and we are going to get on twitter and make Mr. Villeneuve make this right!
>subpar adaptation
Lynch’s DUNE is one of the best sci-films ever made.
>DUNC
>hate
pick one
I can hate on dune, but I can't hate on based DUNC
Do I need to bring Lynch himself to explain to you how much of a studio meddled failure that flick is?
...didn't you make this exact thread like a few hours ago?
also if you're gonna try to make an obvious b8 pasta add something about the gloves
The reason to hate this is the fanbase, as always.
Teens who don't actually watch films (but they LOVED the underground sensation that was Warner Bros $180M USD budget 'Blade Runner 2049') have decided that this is the new IP that somehow spiritually belongs to them and must be championed at all costs as if it were sacred.
These are the new 'patricians' on Yas Forums, the true film enthusiasts.
Not him, but I'm not familiar enough with the Dune books to know how badly they were butchered (as I often hear), so feel free to elaborate on what went wrong.
Look up any obsessed Dune fan group anywhere you want, twitter whatever, they are all crazy about this aswell.
Well either read the book or listen to any Lynch interview ever about it, although he hates the project so much now he doesn't even want to talk about it or any other possible adaptation.
My fear:
Boring gray or black uniforms on everyone and many scenes shot in cheap wmpty gray hangars with no details on the walls, everything looks like the cheap anime where artists were lazy to draw the environment and details, but instead everything is focused on the characters exactly at the center of the screen, while the environment around them is naked and empty. But they add filters and loud music to distract you from that.
You fags haven’t even seen this movie yet you hate on it. Cringe.
We all know how this will go.
If you really know, then you would know that promo pictures of any film are made by the studio marketing department, not by the actual director or DP.
name a recent blockbuster that had red flags but still turned out to be good
Sonic movie doesn't count because said red flags were changed
Let me guess
>movie comes out
>met with critical praise
>general Yas Forums consensus is it's pretty damn good
>vocal minority, half of which refused to even see it, spam threads about how it butchered the source material and is just a Star Wars lookalike now
>makes like $400m at the BO
>shitposters spam threads about how it's a career-ending flop and shows that audiences are tired of 'woke SJW bullshit' (of which there isn't actually any in the film)
>wild accusations of pajeet shilling everywhere
>nominated for 3 academy awards, maybe wins for sound or costume design or something
>Its gonna be another 2049
2049 actually looked good leading up to release though
>one of the best sci-films ever made
That may be so but its a shit adaptation
Bad casting on Paul. The costume design is terrible. Is there anything about it that actually looks promising?
Its gonna be great, you plebs are already filtered
2049 was watchable. DUNC appears on a collision course of the wall.
>$400m at the BO
Boxofice in the age of corona.
My thoughts exactly. I distinctly remember reading the posts on this board leading up to 2049 and almost all of them were criticisms, saying it looked like shit, that it looked soulless, criticizing Harrison Ford appearing on the promo pic with a T-shirt (which was admittedly weird as fuck). When the movie came out everyone did a 180 because it turned out to actually be a thoughtful, competent sequel to the original. The same thing will happen with Dune, I'm almost positive. The promo pics for Dune look better than the promo pics for 2049 anyway.
>mogged
>pozzed
>StarWars, A24, Disney
It's impossible for anyone here to form even the most basic argument without resorting to just regurgitating nothing but played out memes.
I dont tldr
>t. never read the book and somehow never saw any other sci-fi movie
>tfw there will never be a god emperor of dune movie
Thats when shit got real for the golden path.
GEoD is just an end of movie villain monologue extended for 500 pages. An old worm man bores his captive audience to death by explaining his thousand year plan in great detail.
>implying this couldn't be the greatest movie ever made
Hopkins could pull off an epic Leto.
