It's amazing how this movie became so culturally engrained.
>The suit was shit
>Peter weller wasn't sure about how he moved
>They had to invent for a first time, how a robot would move on screen

In hindsight, it all looks easy, and logical. But there was nothing there before that, so they had to literally invent it out of thin air and hope it would work.

It was such a coming together of ideas and styles, which seemed doomed from the start and somehow it melted together and became a stone cold classic not only for the fans, but for the general public as wel. It became a cultural phenomenon. There were so many points where it could have failed and this could've turned into a completely shit movie (just like predator), but somehow the result came out as something that would become something big enough to span generations in its imagery.

good post

Does the Robocop still hold up?

absolutely
maybe some of the special effects are a little dodgy on rewatch but the film overall is still fantastic

Yes. See it.

not seeing a problem

There was a fight scene in the first ironman that I'm sure was ripped off of robocop 1 or 2. It triggered my nostalgia when I saw it and the robocop song started playing in my head.

>foremost rapist identified

Always figured it was going for some fisheye effect but ended up looking too dopey.

Post arms orangutan

>quickly bend to the side to dodge the bullet
>do a matrix dodge to dodge the other while doing a pythagorean theorem shift behind garbage can toward him
>do a final roll to reach behind him
>bullets barely miss me as I roll
>pop up behind him before he realizes what’s going on
>"OH SH—" *snaps neck*

Did you just say that the predator was a shit movie? You fucking fuck

He said Predator could have easily turned into a shit movie, and when you see the original Predator design youll understand why

>strong career in Netherlands
>move to America
>almost immediately make an action movie about privatized law enforcement intermingling with corrupt politicians and criminal organizations

We don't deserve Verhoeven.

See
But yeah, a bit sloppy on my account.

No you don't.

>Peter Weller wasn't sure about how he moved
>They had to invent for a first time, how a robot would move on screen
False. RoboCop came out in 1987. Terminator was released 3 years prior in 1984. This is one bad post.
Nope.

I miss when I first watched that and thought it was from a movie or the TV version that I had never seen at first... until it got totally redickulous.

Arnold in T1 moved like he normally does, and then when he got stripped the skeleton moved wonky, because the tech wasn't really there

this is a clever idea, therefore tv executive have already discarded it.
