Top looks better

LA is mexico regardless

Mexico?

Why would you give a shit about the colour palette of a movie? Isn't this entirely dependant on the story, setting etc. ?

Chucking Baby's First Melville Filter over good cinematography is not the flex you think it is OP.

>make everything look green
what the fuck? why?
gay baby retard

Which is which, top looks much better

OP has the shittiest taste ever. Congratulations.

lol that edit is terrible lmao

pleb

top has depth

Top: LA
bottom: Chernobyl

only retard thinks the bottom looks better.

Top is much better. Bottom looks like hipster bullshit from 2007.

Based

What the fuck is that Metrix shit bro?

bottom looks washed out, crushed blacks look good for a hollywood picture.

Maybe wash that shit out of it like bottom if it was some indie wallflower shit pic

You washed out the sunset

Imagine having this much budget for fast lenses and shooting at more than an f/8

This, it depends on the movie. For La La Land, the top fits the theme better. It doesn't need to be all gritty and washed out. It needs to be more noir and neony.

There's a lot of movies that would benefit from he bottom filter, no doubt. You just picked a bad example.

Film is a visual medium, retard. The look of a film, which includes its use of color, is the entire point of the medium. If you want muh plot, go read a novel.

i liked la la land

top is better

which one am I supposed to like? both look horrible, but top looks marginally better.

bottom is hideous, worse in every way, how it fits the story and aesthetically, I seriously hope this is bait for to see beauty through your eyes would be a sad existence

same

i wonder which one are you suggesting is supposed to look "good"?

Can someone explain to me to read those color graph things?

This was shot on film. Why the fuck would someone make it look like piss?

this
I haven't seen the movie but that's the shot i prefer

he's showing you how he manipulated the color levels
white/black stayed the same
red was slightly increased
green got a huge boost
blue was attenuated (high levels reduced, low levels increased)
He basically made it look like the camera was covered in pee dust. It's no wonder this board is in such a sorry state if this is what people think movies should look like.

from 10/10 to 0/10 good job OP, you have a really shitty taste

What do the X and Y axes represent? They look identical

PIck a different movie that isn't a campy musical.

where are all the homeless drug addicts

Bottom looks like soulless washed out Instragram shit, kill yourself

maybe they just wanted to shoot at magic hour without big lights

I'd much rather have the top than the bottom. But I suppose that is in large part due to the multitude of movies since the Matrix with a pissfilter and few with bold saturated colors.
