That couldnt be further from the truth. In the earliest myths, the snake represents reincarnation because it sheds its skin and is “reborn.” Ouroboros consuming its tail shows the nature of life, when something dies something else is born, its the circle of life. Later in Western mythology, slaying the dragon represents the spiritual death and rebirth of the hero, and he is awarded with the boon that the dragon guards, gold or a maiden. This is the boon of his hidden potential which he finds by venturing bravely into the unknown.
In Eden the serprent is the gatekeeper of knowledge of good and evil, the knowledge of birth and death. And when we overcome good and evil itself we are rewarded fruit from the other tree in eden, tree of eternal life, which is realizing we are one with the serpent itself, the eternal wheel of rejuvenation.

Dragons have been portrayed differently for thousands of years. It's not Jewish propaganda you schizos. In western culture they've been pictured as monstrous beasts to be slain, whereas in eastern societies they've often been imagined as wiser and tamer creatures that can be befriended.

The serepent is associated with 13 in fact. 13 represents death, but it also represents life. Think of a scale in music, a scale consists of 8 notes, like the major scale in C: CDEFGABC, but the 8th note is actually just C again in a higher octave, its like coming back to the starting point in a wheel. 12 is significant because of the zodiac which represents another cycle. So 1 and 13 are the same, but 13 is associated with the death the cycle, whereas 1 is like the rebirth. So thats why there is negative supersition surrounding it, but its only a pessimistic viewpoint of what the serpent represents. Thats the curse of the knowledge of good and evil, you pick only one perspective.
