>you are a figment of an idealized city which is an amalgamation of everyone that lived in that city's memories having a collective dream for a thousand years after having been turned into magic statues that made you real so that you can defeat a giant magic robot that hates technology and became your dad so they can finally die, except for you because you are not real, but actually you are (or are you?)

Are there any movies with a plot like this?

overwritten and convoluted? one of the dan brown movies.

FFX is actually about a star athlete who has to do a bunch of stuff in the offseason before he can rescue an underfunded team from the league's basement and turn them into all-stars by making sensible free agency decisions and mastering a cheese skill that no one else can figure out.

So the people of the city were turned into statues that dream of the perfect version of that city by the king of summoners who summoned a giant monster to kill anyone who would attack the city, except the city is not real nor are the people inside of it real, they are dreams of the original citizens, who are still alive but not really? How did the people in the city have kids if everyone is just a copy of a real person that actually existed?

Honestly based, I would totally play that game

then he realizes that some of the players he got can't learn any moves so he has to disband the original team of friends and buy a bunch of free agents

Dark City checks off some of those points but isn't super close.

>tfw you get everything except for lightning dodging because you're a pleb

This. Stock Aurochs are fucking terrible.

>Turns the team around by replacing all the original players with ethnic minorities

Keepa's fat ass is always the first to get cut

>How did the people in the city have kids if everyone is just a copy of a real person that actually existed?
They didn't, they lived in the same permanent state, never moving forward or backwards.

>ethnic minorities
There's only one Al Bhed worth hiring and its Brother because he's OP as fuck.

Play on PC and cheat or download a macro

>he doesn't know Keepa becomes a star player if you grind him for 90 levels
You have to be crazy to do that tho

If you are gonna grind 90 levels, Wedge is like the best goalie.

>Rin has entered the chat

Oh, I forgot to mention late level Keepa isn't a goalie but a striker with 99 shooting.

Keepa is decent at extremely low levels, mediocre until level 85-ish, then ends up with the highest shooting stat in the game.

Then how did tidus and jecht exist?

Y'all beat me to it

Shuyin and his father, whoever that was

>he doesn't keep the original aurochs and use tidus to singlehandedly wreck everyone by swimming circles around the scrubs

The problem with keepa is that goalies are hard to get exp for. And since his level is always low, its hard to get him his key techs.

Dark city was so good, but it has been so long since I have seen it, does it hold up?

Pretty sure they were the best team
When fully maxxed

They aren't. Not even close.

The problem with Blitzball is that once you get a Guado with decent speed, you can kite the opposing team around the arena, pass to the shooter once you're out of blocker range, and dunk on literally anyone.

I didn't start winning until I recruited Brother. iirc Rin was pretty good too but I never really cared about maintaining the OGs and never used a guide so I didn't know anything about high level stats.

They're dreams of the fayth, just like the aeons the summoners call into being.
They only exist because the people of Zanarkand were all turned into fayth who dream them into existence. Tidus and Jecht were special though, because they were touched by Sin and made into something more than just a dream

That's what I do with Brother who can also kite all the guados.

>tfw you read the wiki and learn that Dream Zanarkand was a physical place that was just very far out in the ocean

Nah, that's just one strategy to use. The real problem with blitzball is that leveling is unbalanced: For every game each AI team plays you play another four so you have far more chances of acquiring exp and leveling up than the AI teams and their players do. It is fun for the first 20~ levels but after some time, the difference is just too great and you can shoot from midfield when you have some good shooters past lvl 35 and win effortlessly. No point playing past that point.
