The hobbit is not a LOTR movie and is rubbish.

Yeah this scene was kino.

Too bad they ruined the film with the Goblin King.

too much digital fuckery. even the real location shots look like cgi

The extended edition was even worse!

The extended version of BOTFA was better

Unexpected journey was kino, second was mediocre but had some good scenes, third one was garbage

it was. which doesn't make sense because the theatrical version was already 2 hours too long

Even the extended versions can't fix the fact that the climax of this series was a greenscreen videogame mess. This shit is unsalvageable. Unless, you're telling me that you have footage of a Orc vs Men vs Dwarf vs Elf vs Goblins fight sequence that doesn't look like dogshit and where Thorin dies, then no amount of fan editing or extended edition can cure this garbage. It's like saying an Extended Edition of GoT season 8 makes it kino. No it doesn't. No amount of added scenes, no matter how good they are can fix the dogshit Night King's death.

BOTFA deez nuts lmfao

my favorite extended part is when the dwarves all go streaking through Rivendell. Bravo Jackson!

Hope they recut this movie and actually maka decent cut. With Legolas and Tauriel completely gone at least. I know there are fan cuts that deal with it but they always look kind of shattered. Azog - another fucker that gotta go. Some riddiculous fight scenes like barrel Bombur. Or break the bottles song. Or goddamn Radagast. In short - all the goofy things. Again - I know there are fan cuts but come on - they never will be like a real deal.

Fan cuts can't fix a battle that looks like shit.

This was so fucking bizarre that I was taken aback for a good 10 mins after the scene ended. The fact they were obviously all shitty CGI characters only made it more ridiculous.

This is why I hope Jackson and WB make some new material so we get slimmer, better movie. Since the hobbit was pretty huge and earned some cash I am confident new cut would sold well.

its cringe but i enjoy it as cringe-kino. the weird mix of tones as they tried to make the film appeal to children(like the original hobbit book + cartoon) with the songs, goofy antics, and cartoon like slapstick action along with the "deep" fan service fan fiction gandalf side plot(that didnt exist in the books) where gandalf goes and confronts sauron(the necromancer), targeted at adult fans to try to give them "more" made the whole thing a really interesting kind of epic failure of a movie (trilogy). i've rewatched it a dozen times now(all of it) and i have to say my least favorite part about these films is this dwarf's horrible bald cap. ruins the whole trilogy more than literally anything else.

Tehnically, Gandalf was in Dol Guldur and found Thrain there. It's in Appendixes in lotr books. Also, The White Council did battle with Sauron. But yeah, that should never be in a movie. And Tombs of Rhudar are completely fanfiction.

They have lots of footage but it was thrown out. Probably didn't even get the greenscreen work done. And I'm sure the opposite is true as well. They have some completed footage that wasn't even in the movie like the one with Azog raising his arms and watching his army march past from a cliff, etc. This whole thing was a mess. It could have been salvaged in the third film had they not rushed it as much with the production. At least the problems in the first 2 films can be edited out with a fan cut, the third film can't be fixed because the important scenes are the ones that were botched.

>In short - all the goofy things
you wanna make the movies even worse?

Well, since so called Tolkien's cut was a huge success and media were praising it, maybe we will get it someday. I said they need to make new scenes so they can actually throw away dumb sidestories and keep movie's story smooth without the feeling something is missing.

sure, i guess, but i still say the whole gandalf side plot shouldnt have been in the films at all. the focus should have stayed on bilbo and his point of view. the times when gandalf mysteriously disappeared should have remained mysterious, because hes a wizard. seeing him do 'wizard wars' with sauron's ghost was cringe as fuck. same with the balrog scene where they try to show him fighting the balrog from the depths to the highest peaks. some things shouldnt be shown. kills the magic.

Tolkien's cut wasn't even the best fan edit. The editing is horrible. There have been better ones.

Who said it was?

I know that but it was the most famous.

Coming from someone in the past month read each books and then watched the movie right after: LotR wasn't a kino trilogy and was very disappointing to me

I want a scouring of the shire short film

They have the footage for that, they just didn't want it in the movie.

I don't care about the shitty visuals I care about the dialogue and seeing how the hobbits have grown. I want to see Ted try to blow his shitty horn and get the men, only for Merry to stop him and say "Leave it. I've a better", and blow his horn of Rohan as hobbits rush out.

Also I want to see them all draw swords on that one man, which Pippen scares off, while Frodo sits their looking solemn.
ALSO I WANT TO SEE SAM RIDE INTO THE COTTON HOME and for Rosie to chastise him for taking his time

I don't mind Legolas as much if he was just a "wink-wink-nudge-nudge" kind of thing, like a small cameo. Because it does stand to reason that he'd be there, but him having so much focus was pretty bad and reeks of studio jewery.

BRAVO HACKSON.

Looks like that Troll fight scene in the first Harry Potter movie. How the fuck did they manage to do it better 20 years ago?

No Azog stays, just redesign him completely
