Sardaukar

Elite troops, or elite chefs?

Timothee Chalamet is relentlessly handsome.

>The Sardaukar were an elite military force controlled by the Padishah Emperor during the Corrino Empire. They were renowned and feared throughout the Known Universe for their fanatical fighting abilities, and used ruthlessness, cruelty and deceit to accomplish their goals. They were also used as "peacekeeping" troops by Shaddam Corrino IV on various missions throughout the galaxy, espcially between House Ecaz and House Moritani. They were not good friends of Muad'Dib.

>ape Swiss Guard
>lose all the colour
Glad to see whoever's making costumes for this is a consistent hack.

Looks like wardrobe dept of the miniseries put more effort and care into one costume than the Villeneuve movie's wardrobe dept put into the entire production.

why do they look like bdsm landschneckt?

Yeah but the original chef hat swiss style sardaukar look like fags and should be completely retconned.

>landschneckt without colors
bravo

in space there is no color, only spice

Is that from kińó autheóur D. Villeneuve?

>350 pages of elite Sardaukar this elite Sardaukar that
>dreaded Sardaukar please think of the children
>Salusa Secundus is a hell planet so it makes hell soldiers
>get fucked practically off-screen by Fremen armed with knives made out of teeth in half a page

It's from the Syfy miniseries

Worse is that in the book the Emperor is a tough military man who wears a Sardaukar Officer's uniform, and in the miniseries he wears a dress and has a silly French accent. I'd post a picture but for some reason screenshots of the miniseries are hard to find

Chefs
>we will execute a 6 course meal with precision
>your taste buds will be anailizted
>no meal profile is beyond our mission

bravo Hackbert

i hope they look cooler in nuDune

Arrakis is a hell planet too and bred warriors just as hardy as Selusa Secundus did, but Sardaukar were lacking in a few key places. The biggest thing is that they were prisoner recruits and didn't have as much loyalty towards the Emperor that the Fremen had towards Paul. The Fremen were religious fanatics and willing to die for Paul on a scale that the Sardaukar were not. Also, personal shields were a thing so everyone fought with daggers.

>can't use shields
>fighting to line their Emperor's wallet
>low morale

Fremen
>fanatically loyal
>fighting to free their people from tyranny and take back their planet
>accustomed to fighting without shields or lasguns
>trained in the weirding way
>home field advantage

If they were fighting on a different planet it would have been a more level field, and the Sardaukar would actually have an advantage

didn't these shields explode when shot with laser? why didn't one guy shot fremen with shields so everything explode with 6 gorillion:1 k:d
or even better just attach laser gun to something remote controled

Just hyperspace ram into them.

On a sidenote, why did Paul allow the subsequent jihad to happen? Just don't give Fremen the access to guild ships and they're fucking stranded on Arrakis.

just looked up this weirding way shit, and apparently is basically just short range teleportation that can be learned as a marital art? damn dune is retard.

Because the explosion happens on a random point between the target and attacker.

He could not control them anymore, he was prophesied to bring the jihad and once he was leading people who he didn't personally know, they started serving the idea of Muadib, not himself. He realized that and followed the script until he fucked off.

Because they'd get caught in the explosion and die too.

You cant liberate a planet, have them fight for you and then restrict them to one planet. Even if you ignore morality, it cant be done for practical reasons.

it doesn't matter if nuclear bomb explode five meters further or closer

>that bit in the second book Paul is upset about the jihad and starts showing Stilgar old video footage of these guys from ancient history named Hitler and Stalin that did similar things

Probably one of the worst parts of any of the books Frank wrote, not only because it took me out of the setting but also because apparently humanity had had no genocidal dictators in like 10,000 years.

Paul could see the future and felt trapped by it. He stopped taking control of his own future and allowed things to happen, probably because the alternatives he saw were worse. That's why his son calls him a pussy faggot to his face.

>>trained in the weirding way
>By imagining oneself suddenly at a nearby location an adept could bypass the laws of physics and make themselves arrive there almost instantaneously.
Bravo Herbert

>not knowing about bilocation

bruh look at these dudes...
