What are some sci-fi movies that don't have
>space ships
>a heavily futuristic setting
>an action packed alien invasion
Like Invasion of the Body Snatchers or Westworld or even Tremors maybe.

The Andromeda Strain?

This is on my to-watch list. Seems pertinent for the current times.
This sounds pretty cool. I didn't mention it in OP but primer was good.

It's really fucking stupid but the fun sort of stupid, worth a watch if you can't find anything else

Thrillseekers
The 13th floor

Children of Men
The new Planet of the Apes movies
Jurassic Park
A Clockwork Orange (it's about chemically controlling social actions, so it counts, fight me)
They Live
12 monkeys (only part is in the future? I don't know if that'll count)
Back to the Future
The Fly
Videodrome
Re-Animator
That's it off the top of my head, but some are debatable I guess.

Upstream Color,
Altered States,
The Abyss,
Under the Skin,
Contact

I watched this the other day. I was waiting for that scene pictured, and it was fucking nothing.

K-PAX

What's this one?

Annihilation
Ex Machina
Children of Men
The Thing
Starship Troopers

Naked Lunch. Less straight sci fi and more surrealist science fantasy.Thematically in the same vein as Videodrome. Same with eXistenZ and somewhat with Scanners. Before these movies are more horror, and beyond 2000 are dramas with occasional graphic violence.

for the life of me i can't remember the name of this one sci-fi/horror movie, where a couple stays out in a cabin innawoods and the woman wanders off in the middle of the night and comes home injured and then lies about it, and the man starts getting really suspicious of her weird behaviour and it turns out she's been replaced by an alien that wants to replace him too or something. i think at one point the thing inside the woman reveals itself at one point and its this weird CG thing. am I going insane or has anyone else heard of this?

Thats stupid. If the guy is alone why not overtake him? whats the alien waiting for...

The Stuff, 1980s horror movie you can easily find on Youtube. Basically an addictive dessert sweeping the globe that's actually a living alien organism. The more you eat, the more you want, and eventually it consumes you from the inside out.

oh nevermind, found it again

Godzilla/Gamera
Back to the Future
Lots of capeshit verges on sci-fi but still meets your other criteria
