The leap from GTA 3 to San Andreas is beyond comprehension

good games used to come out all the time

I've never played 3.
Only Vice City, San Andreas, IV, and V.

GTA 3 was great I played the shit out of it.

YOU PICKED THE WRONG BOARD, FOOL

huh
it's fun, and the stations are pretty good, albeit limited

Nothing has beaten San Andreas, the amount of freedom you had and all the crazy shit you could do.

Why are modern games so soulless in comparison to San Andreas?

>Playing that game within the year it came out

Was as legendary as playing Super Mario 64

Has anyone played Bayonetta? I'm playing that and Heavenly Sword. right now.

It's not really beyond comprehension. They wanted to make a very open sandbox game on a good engine that can support a lot of mechanics that can help tie a story together. 3 was their basic barebones version of what they wanted to do, Vice City was them more or less actualizing what they wanted, and SA was them pushing the engine with crazy ideas as far as they could.

It just seems unimaginable because their aspirations were creative on a scale that was beyond smooth brained shit like "lets make the protag a trans dolphin-kin"

Smaller teams mean things are hand-crafted. Like AC1

Amazing how huge San Andreas felt even though it was technically smaller than iv and v map. Literally felt like a whole state with different cities, small towns, and rural areas.

Rockstar of David went downhill with this. What happen ?

They keep chasing grafix at the expense of world building.

GTA V should have had 3 cities and 2 counties like San Andreas did but 5 times as big as SA.

I like the dating sim in San Andreas . You could have a gf in every city.

San Fierro had that foggy feel, Las Venturas kind of had a thin air, i think its mostly atmospheric conditions

yes, very disappointing
i don't recall single think i liked about that game, and i spend hundreds of hours on dmc

Bros I miss CJ ;_;
fuck

I think it’s because IV and V had nowhere near the amount of variety in the map that SA had. Not just the forest areas and desert areas etc. But it also had three cities that all looked different and felt different.

they fuck up with Manhunt 2 thats when they become soulless

*Magnun Opus dshit im drunk and fucking tired

San Andreas came out 16 years ago

manhunt 2 was great

Why isnt IV on PS4 yet?

4 was the pinnacle but everyone got butthurt there weren't enough dick jokes and didnt appreciate the level of detail they put in it so V was just shit out half baked with horribly written characters and finally turned into a MT cash cow with gta online

Only low iq disagree

this was the best one nutsack

The older I get the more I dislike V and appreciate IV.

San andreas only added more and better content to an existing game engine.

really ? to be honest I thought it was bad

The difference between gaming in 2004 to 2001 was decently massive

is there a cunnymod?

check out special agent big smoke

No
This
And sa is unstable as fuck for this reason.

No idea that’s never made any sense to me, literally every other old rockstar game is available on PS4 you can buy GTA III/VC/SA/Bully/Revolver
On PS store and stream RDR 1 on PS Now.
Even fucking L.A Noire got a remaster but no GTA IV!?

The engine used for SA was total shit. More features than III/VC's but buggy as fuck and held together with duct tape

The leap between SA and IV was way more incredible

The car mechanics alone make IV the best. V was a step down, the cars have no weight to them.

No other GTA game comes close to the overall greatness of Vice City.

Forgot image haha sorry

yeah its not even on Steam or they website last time I check

Dan Houser insisted on doing most of the writing. Can’t blame him, if I were the owner of a multinational video game empire I’d write the scripts too. But the fact is he can’t write for shit.

Only thing I have against Vice City is that the map was relatively small.

lol he thinks this is cunny

why the console versions are always popular ? playing these games with a controller sucks especially shooting like in Vice City

GTA San Andreas > GTA V > GTA IV > GTA Vice City > GTA 3

Jesus Christ

It still feels super fleshed out. I'd rather have a small great map like Vice City than the huge boring shit that most open world games do today.
And on that whyd they remove hidden packages from V? Some of my favorite things to do was looking and exploring ever corner of the map for collectables after beating the main game.

IV just needed a bit more polish, maybe some new york forests, sniper missions and creative climbing like gta sa etc.
