You can't compare Breaking Bad to Better Call Saul even though they are in the same universe and have some overlapping characters. They are taking a very different approach to story telling. If you skip over the Jimmy-Chuck time of the show it will leave you with far less of a reason to be engaged in season 4 and this latest season because you won't understand fundamental character motivations and track the progression that the main cast has undergone from the beginning. Its a very inefficient way to watch a show.
