RotJ is a flawed movie.
The first act is fun but makes no damn sense. The first half hour is the gang getting captured by Jabba the hut supposedly on purpose to rescue Han. Try as you might you will never be able to figure out what their plan actually was.

Second big one is the ewoks. Do I really need to explain that to you or why that whole side-quest was retarded?

Rogue one on the other hand has exactly two small dumb things in it and that's it. The tentacle monster thing and Saw saying "I will run no longer". The movie has a plot that makes sense. It has solid world building and cinematography. The Bad guys aren't portrayed as mustache twirling villains like the emperor is in RotJ. The empire has a whole banality of evil thing going on. The good guys conversely are portrayed as as morally complex at best and terrorists at worst.
And last but not least, killing literally everyone takes balls. No one died in RotJ except Vader not even the emperor apparently.

If you truly think that Rogue One has only two dumb things in it then I don't really know what to tell you, I think you should watch it again because I could make a laundry list of retarded shit that happens in it. Also the cinematography is terrible and ugly and so are the sets and costumes. And you're really going to say that the villains that obliterate an entire city and then an entire planet within hours of one another aren't "mustache-twirlingly evil"? And the heroes get exactly one moment where they are portrayed as morally dubious so it's completely disingenuous to pretend that there is some theme of moral complexity.

I'd hesitate to say the prequels were better than the sequels. Both trilogies have exactly one good movie.
