I have no idea what you're talking about
nice high heels
>asian movie monster design
>it's a spooky child
Kids are fucking scary just look how much jannies are afraid of them
Is there some monster concept art book that influenced this? the only ones I've ever read were the Terryl Whitlatch ones and her stuff was based on real animals.
idk lol
This one is the best out of three tho
the front heavy, biped but running on forearms gorilla look has been so fucking overused
Post good ones
Contemporary monster design is such poop. The only good examples I can think of is the one from The Ritual (which is a shit movie otherwise) and the bear from Annihilation.
ooga-booge were the white chicks at?
>The Ritual
le spooky deer
the edge of tomorrow aliens were pretty nifty i would say
youtube.com
they only work in motion because they move very uncomfortably and feel violent and spiky
something like that is better than the shitty crawling spooky sound meme monsters
>Japanese horror movie monster design
>it's just black goo
this was probably someones fetish character that they really wanted to get out on screen
I think it was the MUTO in the Godzilla reboot that made me notice this, but I can't find a good pic online
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I want to see Clover popularized it by successfully using it to create a new and rather distinct looking monster.
MUTO looks good though. Very distinct thanks to other elements beyond the weird front legs.
Are those the monsters from a quiet place?
Couldn't take that entire movie seriously
I like how they look in the manga more
Hellboy movies had some good designs, and Pan's Labyrinth.
when me and my friends watched it, we were hoping all the kids would die, because they were such fucking morons that they were getting everyone else killed
>watching Underwater
>Oh nice, I can't wait to see the design of the monsters
>They are literally fucking zombies
What in the god damned?
Unbelievable how uninspired those designs were, considering they had so much real life deep sea fauna to copy. It always has to be a monstrous, hairless semi-humanoid with a fucked up face.
Just the concept of blind aliens conquering the entire planet is dumb in itself.
I think it'd be difficult to animate these things without making them look silly as fuck. So I understood why they did that they did.

a bunch of barbed wire crossed with high tension cables and an octopus is a pretty fun look that's only really possible on the big screen.
i think it was a fine choice, also makes our hero the important part, since he stands out more
Best design
>I want to see Clover popularized it by successfully using it to create a new and rather distinct looking monster.
I think you're on the money. It worked in Cloverfield because they just showed bits and pieces and trying to work out how it fit together was difficult. All the poorly made copy-cats make me wish they went with the whale design.
Guillermo del Toro always has great creature design but I imagine if he made more movies they'd start to feel samesy.
fuck I remember this from all the theory videos before the movie came out
10/10 design
They would just be another langoliers
