What happened to eroticism in film? It seems while sex is far more "normalized" having anything erotic in a movie is unseen in recent years. My guess is that the cheapening of sex jokes by 00's era comedies made people associate "sexy" with "bad". There were plenty of horror and comedy movies in the 20th century that had plenty of nudity or horniness while still being good, how do we encourage hollywood to bring this back?

Season 1 was before the show took off in popularity (which made HBO take off in popularity) and before they had to play everything safe and to formula. Once they had a reputation for showing cocks and pussies it was shoehorned in in boring ways. All the sex scenes were uncomfortable but not in a "this is making me horny" way but in a "this is boring and I don't want someone to see me watching this" way.
