I find it interesting that not only was Abrams not smart enough to get Star Trek he wasn't smart enough to get Star Wars.

JarJar's a hack and RLM are parasites.

stop making fun of Mike for this, he was write. He was the right director. Just not the right writer.

Is he gonna purge it like Cinemassacre did with all of their other soulful videos?

He never said for JJ to write it aswell

Nice try, Mike. No one is buying it. You asked for JJ, they gave you JJ.

But Kasdan wrote episode 7. You know that guy Mike claimed was one of the more talented people than Lucas.

2bqh senpai, it's kinda hard to make a decent movie after the trainwreck The last jedi. I mean, if you were handed a bag full of shit and told to make the best of it. The result would still more or less, be shit

TFA was just as bad as the other two.

TLJ is trash in no small part due to TFA being terrible

why didn't kid Kasdan get other kid Kasdan to direct Solo?

I mean, the point of that movie was to introduce the new characters, which it did. Compared to the rest of the trilogy, TFA was the most stable one. It wasn't perfect but gave good enough material for the sequel which was a pile of garbage and ultimately gave the third film nothing to work with

Bullshit. Both were horrible, but for completely different reasons

JJ is a hack, it's been proved everytime, dude can't fucking write an ending, he always creates tons of misteries and plots and never ever delivers

He can only, and not even that good, direct. He can't write for shit.

>rey isn`t a marie sue
>no I will not explain why, I will just make a stupid voice while pretending to be a strawman internet incel
>the movie should have had a interracial romance
>people who call out anti white male agenda in movies are just ugly incels, just shut up and consume progressive movies like invisible man
>despite sjws ruining everything I love I will continue to not mention them and instead just be bitter and angry that they no longer make good star trek or star wars products

thanks, M'kikel Stoolcaca

Believe it or not, someone suggested that JJ do the new Star Wars on Yas Forums back in like 2013 or some shit. And quite a few anons seemed to agree.

Never said he was a good writer, he's kinda shitty at that. But he's an excellent director, looking back when he made the first of the three Star trek movie. He had nothing to do with the script and the movie turned out to be good, it's not amazing but great. Don't hand him a pen and paper, just put a camera on him

Episode 3 was better than 7, 8, 9 and Solo.

Based, based based based

>Is he gonna purge it like Cinemassacre did with all of their other soulful videos?

They did what?

yeah and he made two decent movies

people keep forgetting that the OG star wars trilogi was also two decent movies

it introduced characters but failed to make them interesting or make me care about what happens to them

>two decent movies
See I know this is bait but I still get mad.

If TFA succeeded in making me care about the cast then TLJ would have been more tolerable, still bad but better

which COULD have been remedied in ep 8, but no, it was just more guff

I find it really funny that people keep saying he's a good director. How exactly is he a good director when all his movies are terrible?

;)

The worst offense of TFA is that it creates an Empire facsimile out of nowhere. The first six movies in the series establish how the empire was formed: palpatine seizes control of the galactic republic and changes it to suit his image. There is a logic as to why they are such an imposing force. TFA basically creates “Empire 2 electric boogaloo” ~30 years later during peacetime. How did this incredible force develop unnoticed? The Force Awakens should have been an inverse of A New Hope, with a small remnant of the Sith/empire/first order struggling against a monolithic republic, with Kylo Ren and Snoke succeeding in building themselves up into a formidable opponent, to set up the dire straits for the second and third movies.

Rich is right when he says Star Wars is a creatively bankrupt franchise. There's no truly original place you can take a big budget Star Wars movie while still appealing to a large enough audience to make money. To feed the corporate machine, you're forced to do rehashes of exiting stuff and throw dumb action directors like JJ Abrams at it to get the uncritical popcorn chewing crowd.
Only small-scale stuff like the Mandalorian can still work, but it will be limited to a niche audience.
