Roman Films/TV

>Don't say any of the old Hollywood movies either because they all suck.
Wrong. Spartacus with Kirk Douglas sucks though. Quo Vadis is the best of the lot, check that one out. It still holds the record for most costumes used in a film.

Caligula with Malcolm McDowell is degenerate smut, but I think it's worth a watch, high budget with lots of memorable scenes.

Fellini's Satyricon is dreamlike and only somewhat coherent, but also interesting and worth a look.

Gladiator is almost Braveheart-tier in its approach to "history" but it's an enjoyable movie, watch it if you haven't already.
