the cupboard wasn't magic it was the key he used on it, i remember him using it to travel back to the indian's time by locking himself in a chest or something, and i'm pretty sure they end up going back to see the person who made the key and later find out she commissioned sets of plastic figures of herself as a kind of phylactery so they could bring her back and she could live again in their future, pretty weird shit all told
