All large corporations are inherently evil. They have no conscience and the workers within do not feel personally responsible for any actions the corporation takes because it's so large. Same with the board of directors, of which there is often dozens if not hundreds. Nobody feels responsible for any immoral actions the corporation might take, their only concern is its success.
Corporations are almost like living entities, albeit completely soulless and self-serving. Their only concern is growth at all costs.

depends on the game
>DOOM, DOOM II, DOOM 64
at worst they're just being reckless by studying the teleportation technology, otherwise a standard megacorp
>DOOM 3
actually pretty innocent aside from a handful of corrupted Mars staff. You find audio logs that imply possession or corruption of project heads, and then the lower ranks report this (not the demons, just the dangerous behavior) to the UAC Board of Directors, who immediately respond by sending tons of Marines, heavy wewapons, and the representatives you see in-game trying to shut down the portal.
>DOOM 2016, DOOM Eternal
Almost entirely corrupted or possessed to the core, think the opposite of DOOM 3

Thanks for the info.

Aperture

he said evil, not the most based

>mistake
They were trying to make better humans under the guise of making better slaves; I want to say (but don't feel like double checking) that Tyrell says "our motto is 'more human than human'" but I might have made that up
Either way, when Batty confronts Tyrell he basically explains that their short lifespan is a somewhat unintended byproduct of their super human nature and that they've been trying to fix the problem
Which is one plot detail that makes their whole revenge arc a bit less justified, and something the actor playing Batty wrote about privately

Thats whats based about it

doom 3 has way more soul than nu-doom
