Cubans, and Caribbeans in general, can't pronounce Rs for their lives. They pronounce them like Ls. Puelto Lico.
Cuban accent is so distinct and different from any other Spanish speaking accent, it was chosen to represent the black crows in the dub for the Dumbo movie.
