Seasons 1-2 are unironically peak sitcom kino. Only normies wouldn't like it because it's unironically too well written for them. Season 3 is Dan Harmon starting to sniff his own farts and pander way too much to reddit and goes downhill quickly. At the time it was still better than most sitcoms on the air, but that's not saying much. Probably a 7/10 at best. Season 4 and beyond is just reddit garbage, with 4 being the worst, 5 being slightly better, and 6 being a tad better but still bad.

If I were you just watch the first 2 seasons.

4 is pretty shit. but the real reddit opinion is that 1 is good. 1 eventually gets good, around like episode fucking 18. but the first episodes of community are absolute dog shit. britta is literally the worst. she eventually becomes the best. jeff is actually likeable, which he shouldn't be. shirley and pierce have no voice. abed is just retarded, not super retarded. and no one gives a shit. the stories are lame.

but about halfway through, dan harmon figured out where he wanted to go. which is fairly standard for a sitcom. and then it became good. but the first half of season 1 is utter dog shit.

People will tell you Seasons 1 and 2 are peak kino. Truth is, only season 1 is. Season 2 is where it starts going slowly downhill, which mind you they're still pretty high but make no mistake the decline is coming. Pierce starts becoming a punching bag, Shirley's shtick gets even more tired. Britta loses what her character is supposed to be. Troy gets relegated to being Abed's side kick. Annie doesn't grow up, Jeff goes nowhere.

In Season 3, the characters complete their transition in to cartoons. They try to bring it back in Seasons 5 and 6 but they're still haunted by the skeletons of the pure decisions they made. By that time everyone is old or gone, and it just seems like a vehicle to give people jobs.

Seasons 1-3 are pretty great. Clever writing, the characters feel real even when they're being outlandish, it's just a great sitcom
