Americans are not a funny race of people. I've never met an American that didn't take themselves obscenely seriously

americans can't banter
the peak of american comedy is shit like american pie

Americans are generally anti-intellectual. It's rare they manage to produce something of genuine humour like, say, Frasier.

British comedies tend to rely on banter type humour which you can do a lot with, whereas American ones tend to be one note, usually relying on sex or gross out humour

OI LUV, GIT IN 'ERE ROIGHT AWAYE, THA FOONEH MAN IS DOIN' THAT 'OL SILLY WOLK

What are these delightfully witty British comedy films coming out that I'm not hearing bout?

>be american
>shitpost about the british on Yas Forums
>get shot

Americans have no sense of ease. Read Frances Trollope - Domestic Manners of the Americans. They talk about the northern States having no comedic journals and no sense of levity.

>be american
>post on Yas Forums
>get corona
>go to the hospital
>get bankrupt
>gets shot on the hospital

seethe & cope

>why do british comedies appeal more to me, an englishman, than american comedies??
hmmmm

>be American

>What are these delightfully witty British comedy films coming out that I'm not hearing bout?
I didn't say ones better than the other, and that there are witty British comedies coming out, I'm just stating facts. Compare the humour of British films like Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Snatch, In Bruges to American films like Superbad, Step Brothers, Bridesmaids, The Hangover. The British ones typically set up clever jokes in advance and deliver jokes through banter-like conversation, whereas the American ones tend to have characters accidentally shit themselves, cum too early, scream about cock and balls. They both have their place, I'm just stating the difference.

Lmao

>kills herself because she's AFRAID of POSSIBLY experiencing mental health impacts just from STAYING HOME
jesus christ all bantz aside this bitch was retarded

OBSESSED

farts are funny and you WISH you had shows as based as the simpsins

>In Bruges
That one is Irish. Irish humour is far more mean spirited than British.

I mean I was assuming we were talking about contemporary comedies because in aggregate the American comedy (chaplin, keaton, hawks, mccarey, lewis, sturges) blows the british comedy (ealing comedies, monty python, uhhhh) out of the water. Like there's no comparison.

>contemporary comedies
Not the one you were replying to but those are as close to contemporary as you can get considering comedy just fucking died after 2008 with a few exceptions.

The Simpsons was has been shit since Series 9. Whereas the Long running British sitcom, Last of The Summer Wine, was good for all 31 series.

>4 episodes a year

I would hope so

>mean spirited
You don't get it.

I'm assuming you unironically think Simon Pegg and Nick frost are funny. British comedy died in the early 90s

Why they call it a suicide attempt? Surely this was a suicide success.

>4 times 31 equals 295
Burger education everyone.

I think they are good but seriously fucking overrated

Have you even seen the Inbetweeners movie? It's the lowest form of humour out there. piss and shit jokes, fart jokes, tit jokes.

>britcucks
LOL

I didn't say I didn't like it, The Guard is IMO one of the best comedies there are but you can't say the characters and what happens to them isn't a lot darker than Brit comedies.
Ironically enough, it shows in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Where the Irish writer tries to write Americans but they act so Irish the whole thing is just unbelievable. Americans don't banter each other like the characters in that movie.

I agree

>t. seething

Cope.
