dune is one of those series that sounds really cool on paper, but the more I read into it the more retarded it all seems, especially the prequel stuff dealing with "cymeks" and artificial intelligence.

Villinueve makes cool movies but Dune is some dated sci fi with themes more suited to 60s-70s drug culture and the west's reliance on middle eastern oil.

As captivating as the Jodorowsky one would have been simply because of how odd it would have turned out, you can mark people on these threads as fake Dune fans or non-book readers if they begin shilling that film as what we should have got as a proper adaption. In reality it was an excuse for Jodorowsky to do weird shit like 2000 men shitting on screen at once.

Same with people bitching about the new movie being woke shit whilst shilling the syfy Dune series which also had a non white female Kynes. I hate the change too but I will still, for now, entertain the possibility of the movie turning out decent when I consider how the LotR trilogy pisses off some fans with all the things they changed but also did a lot right (they seriously stumbled into pandering feminist shit even back in the early 2000's what with deleted footage of Arwen and Eowyn killing off Uruk Hai brutes left right and centre).

Bad guy designs matter a lot. Some make it partially because of how well designed they are (Vader) and some could have stood to have been may more memorable if they looked better (like the Witch King).
