The last time their own KING took a funny turn half of the Rohirrim rebelled inside of a few weeks and rode around the country metting out Justice with Eomer acting as DeFacto King of Rohan during this time. Only The White Wizard had the clout to able to reign them back into line and that took him like 5 days, leaving his companions and the King of Rohan at the mercy of 10,000 Uruk-hai while he did so.

You obviously haven't read the books, he was a ranger and a coward for the better part of his life, yes he helped a lot of people throughout the Middle Earth but ignored his actual destiny and responsability, leaving Gondor in disarray, so it was easier for Sauron to wreck Ithilien and Osgiliath

Faramir tries his hardest to be a good leader but he always gets shit orders from his asshole dad to the point of being put on the front lines and later a suicide mission after retreating.
