It was not Peter's fault directly but seeing an older darker Doctor that isn't an action hero filtered a massive part of the fandom. And I like that.

Clara had a massive following on social media. Still does. I still see Clara avatars when searching for things completely unrelated to Who. But yeah there definitely was a huge drop off when the Ponds left.

I'd rather trade Heaven Sent for no more Clara and an actually profitable series 9 and 10.

I actually outright hate the music of RTD’s era, it’s too bombastic. The Doctor would be having a quiet emotional moment and it would be accompanied by what sounded like a jazz orchestra playing at a burlesque show.

Clara was very pretty so if you're not paying attention to the plot it's easy to like her. Nothing against Jenna, but the writing shat the bed hard around the same time as she came aboard. Bad luck for her

because I Am The Doctor playing at every 15 minute point is way better

Clara was unironically the best written companion and series 8-9 was the most well thought-out Doctor/companion dynamic in nu-who, and I will die on this hill if need be.
