thanks reddit!
Thanks reddit!
thanks, shill!
Can someone explain to me why reddit is so hated without invoking politics?
For the longest time I used to think it was because reddit is too soulless/normie/brainless but it's actually jealousy. The people there simply have better lives.
It’s Yas Forums for people afraid of the real Yas Forums
their entire system is antithetical to Yas Forums. upvotes make the most mediocre ideas and jokes on the front and contreverisal opinions are downvoted. it's normie trash like facebok
The entirety of the site encourages a hivemind mentality thanks to the karma system and “bad posts” literally being hidden from site. In addition, most subreddits for popular shows or games are run by people who are part of the production team, which means any negative opinions or feedback can easily be censored.
It’s a site made for sheep, hence the fucking robot mascot.
This, precisely.
On Yas Forums, everyone is equal.
On reddit, if your comment gets downvoted, you are seen as wrong and your opinion literally gets censored
Yas Forums without soul where everyone polices themselves and each other because nobody is anonymous. You'll never see what people are actually thinking on that site because they're so afraid of having their handle tarnished.
That's why everyone on reddit puts themselves into box like subreddits where everyone parrots the same opinions with little variation.
Here you can say what you feel, because there's no consequence
On Yas Forums, Reddit is perceived as a bunch of naive tools who believe that being a nerd is cool. As a result, they're childishly enthusiastic about their hobbies (which they've only barely scratched the surface of), find random humor completely hilarious, and are notoriously pedantic. This is due to the fact that they believe that nerds are some kind of "cultural elite" simply because their interests aren't completely mainstream.
BUT, since they don't see themselves as particularly alienated by society, they haven't developed the pleb/patrician paradigm, unlike Yas Forums. Consequentially, they also have the prudish, politically-correct mentality that goes with the delusion that they can still be normal members of society and accepted by potentially anyone, or that they have moral standards to uphold. This makes them very prone to being shocked or amused by the cheapest transgressions and subversions.
Although keep in mind that "modern" Yas Forums(aka after 2013) is the product of reddit winning the /q/ wars in 2012
just go tell them there are only two genders or proud to be white
Also another visual example if you still don't understand
Wow reddit. Very cool!
This. I don't have any opinion on reddit beyond the upvote/downvote system which opened up a Pandora's box of shit.
>To get attention (upvotes) on reddit, you need to follow the hivemind
>To get attention (You)s on Yas Forums, you can either follow the hivemind or go hard against it.
Yas Forums's system makes things more interesting.
>The entirety of the site encourages a hivemind mentality
Kinda reminds me of this other site
The entire website is based around censorship.
They also have sticks up their ass.
reddit is sucking up to likeability by always adhering to the hivemind and never speaking your mind
Yas Forums is a sea of dogshit as everyone says whatever they want anonymously with the occasional real quality thought floating amidst that people recognize
they're a bunch of faggots
I can get upvotes on Yas Forums too. All I need to say is "fuck niggers" and I practically have my dick shoved in your sister's mouth, free of charge.
Every website has a hivemind mentality, the only ones that don't are mediator platforms like youtube, although most of the active userbase, i.e. people who leave comments are young idiots.
The good times of four chin are gone to be honest. Checking the catalog today is pure spamfest and terrible NPC threads. All original content is gone from here and all you get is hivemind replies. Plus sexually frustrated kids who think they are rebelluous by being edgy alt kikes. Literally devoid of creativity but on a high horse.
If anyone knows a message board about TV which is slow and to vedditors unknown, let me know.
youre an idiot but you also get to share your dumb opinion so ye
the architecture of the site encourages the same kind of posting bullshit you see on social media
>132472006
(You)s and showing replies to posts is a mistake, it wasn't always this way
Browsing that website sucks the format is terrible and looks like shit
It’s NINTENDO HIRE THIS MAN:the site
This is the biggest advantage Yas Forums has over reddit by far. Everything else depends on your personal preference.
hi, is this the thread where people outline the problems with reddit and then bitter faggots and redditors come in and say "but Yas Forums is the same!"
this. people refresf the catalog constantly just to post fuck kike, all women are whores etc just to get a dozen hello based departments.
Outed as a nu-fag from r/drumpf.
The biggest curse is not fitting in either 4chins or plebbit. Maybe one day a true platform will appear for the enlightened.
Terrible bait
hmm yes i guess it is
Kill yourself loser
Remember all those fucking faggots in high school that would scream loudly in the halls because
>xDD it’s random!!!!!!!
Reddit is 100% composed of those fucking losers
If I kill myself I'm ridding the world of originality. I wouldn't do it even if I wanted to.
The thing you're describing is old Yas Forums or to an extent the imdb forums before they were closed down.
It's midwit: the website
get called a redditor on Yas Forums, get banned from subreddits for calling people retarded, no solace for us
i don't think posting jack nicholson "i warned him" threads was that enlightened but it was pretty funny
f
It's passive-aggressive Yas Forums.
At the same time there's something about it that's pretty neat if you're not a fan of the hive mindset. The people who complain about normies have always appeared like normies to me too.
You think being overtly hostile is better than being passive agressive? Like really bro? hmm... okay, you do you sweety.
I hope they got heckin big chunguserino reddit gold for this!
it's more genuine
Reddit has three problems:
1) Vote system.
2) User accounts.
3) Users can make their own forums.
The problem with 1) is that it leads to echo chambers. Yes Yas Forums is slanted to the right, but we still have plenty of people from all over the spectrum. Their voices aren't stifled; their posts aren't hidden. They can post and it will bump the thread to the top of the catalog no different than any other thread. In fact, because contrary posts tend to get more (You)s than agreement posts, posting something against the grain tends to give your post a HIGHER chance of being seen.
The problem with 2) is that once users have an account and history they can be dismissed or acclaimed for who they are and not the content of their post. You post X, someone checks your history and says "oh I see at one point you said Y so your current opinion is invalid." Highly rated user123 posts something and everyone circle jerks "oh it's user123, he's important, let's venerate him regardless of if this post was actually good." Also if your score is based on people liking your posts it feeds back into 1) where it becomes an echo chamber. You echo the current sentiment instead of speaking your mind, just to farm points.
The problem with 3) is that it splinters the community. You get down voted enough and you break off to form your own echo chamber, but this just gets rid of discussion. Again, here on Yas Forums we put everyone in the same room and they're forced to argue with each other. On a place like reddit all sides partition themselves off and circle jerk. The few people who go to visit their neighbor are voted down and they quickly realize the error of trying to have a discussion.
Basically reddit as a forum is set up to discourage free speech and discussion. As a forum's sole use is to act as a medium for discussion, it fails at its primary goal. That is why I hate reddit.
It's the epitome of signal-to-noise.
Getting called a retard is not even remotely the same as being banned and having your posts hidden, you dumb motherfucker.
Being hostile when unprovoked communicates projection to me. Both Yas Forums and reddit lack honor when it comes to that. Every time I delve into an argument with someone I feel like I'm talking to a rat that's trying desperately to use every trick in the book to one up me.
A real man is honest throughout and will debate you with arguments all the way through, without being petty or a sore loser.
Yikes... Okay BOOMER
The ok boomer thing isn't really an insult to me since you zoomers make boomers look like they're worthwhile. That's how bad things have become.
>projection
pseud term for "no u"
stopped reading there
your reading comprehension is miserable
i said i've been banned from subreddits for calling people retarded
>As a forum's sole use is to act as a medium for discussion
Their tagline the internet's front page does live up to it's hype tho. Everyone and their grandma's posts there, Elon Musktard, Bill Gates, leaders, CEO's, writers, directors have all had AMAs on there(even tho AMA was kinda invented here). I don't really care much about that kind of stuff, and I understand your argument about the freeflow of how the way people talk here, so I don't go there, but I understand the appel for the normies
