Is this just as good as Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, other western space operas?

Better, but not everyone likes flamboyant camp and seething repressed homosexual themes as much as I do.
Better, but also boring.
better
also julian is legitimately a good character and a worthy successor to yang and the only reason people hate him is cause they fell for the hero worship yang despised
For me it’s Galaxy Express 999
Better but it's not really comparable
I'd say the space setting is just more of a backdrop, it's not really a science fiction show
>Not based harlock
Better, it's endless space politics and nothing else with a cast of 1 million characters.
Masterpiece
This. It's mostly a pseudo-homoromantic soap opera that takes place in space.
It's more consistent than them but that's also what makes it more boring
For me it's Venus Wars
Its absolute kino from start to finish
Where do I watch this. Why no one uploads this to youtube?
Theres literally hundreds of old anime flying under the radar on Youtube, this would be a godsend
pretty good
have you heard of bittorrent?
It is on youtube
Why do fags not understand normal straight male camaraderie?
Uh yes hello there madam but this is actually the television and film board
Just turn your brain off whenever battles are concerned. The author makes no pretense of trying to realistically explain how Yang keeps schooling space Germans led by twink Napoleon. Just accept it as a fact, it's a series on the human nature, not on warfare strategies
The difference is it actually is a space opera, not monster of the week American drivel. Requires a lot of investment and you might get bored if you're not invested in the characters themselves. It's a bit of everything, including filler episodes considering it has 110 episodes plus the movie(s).
Also, classial music and /m/ fucking everywhere.
The fpa guys aren't but some of the empire guys are questionable idk maybe I just haven't had that kind of friendship
Ya this was the most frustrating thing about that show
The show blatantly show gay characters when it's needed, why speculating about straight characters being secretly homos?
Literally EVERY single effeminate character has been seen fucking a woman at some point
No it is not.
>have you heard of bittorrent?
I.just want to open It on my youtube app on my smarttv and have a comfy experience.
The point is, Reinhard is a genius strategist with sophisticated and unexpected tactics, while Yang is way better when it comes to reacting in real time and making up counterattack plans on the fly
I dropped it when they killed my waifu
It was removed because they bought off the rights when they made the remake.
Which, btw, is not worth it unless you already watched the series. If you did, you'll also appreciate the remake a lot (if you manage to get past the shitty artstyle), you can truly tell those people actually loved and respected the source material
No. It's much better
I guess because there's too much an emphasis on the characters specifically rather then discuss tech or have any wonder when it comes to space exploration and they don't seem to relax around each other much the way the fpa guys do. Though you raise a good point instantly speculating homosexual themes could speak more to the person than the material.
this, it's pretty gay.
Blocked in my country
Id never watch the remake before watching the original. The artstyle is just too faggy for me.
Ah well there you go
>DBZ with spaceships
just go to watchcartoononline you dumb zoomer nigger
It's better. In fact comparing it to any of those is a disservice to LOGH, the greatest anime of all time
>instantly speculating homosexual themes could speak more to the person than the material.
Women think male friends are gay because they can't help but project their own cock lust on others. I assume the same principle applies to faggots.
Yeah the original didn't have a faggy look at all
t. Cocksucker
If I'm being honest:
Julian sucks
The best episodes are the first 30
Reuenthal's rebellion makes no sense
They didn't know how to get to the ending after killing yang
I thought the first 30 episodes were the weakest.
The shows truly improves when it stops focusing on military going full politics instead
It's a completely different type of show. The only thing it has in common with Star Trek is that it takes place on a galactical scale. You have to see it as a 19th century political/war story set in space and not a sci-fi story because the world building doesn't make a lot of sense for a show taking place 1000+ years from now.
The show has many flaws, but it's full of soul and the author focused on what he does best, which is character interactions.
Ruenthal's rebellion makes perfect sense thematically, and is in fact the entire message of the show.
In any society where the right to rule derives from military prowess, and loyalty is to people rather than institutions, the autocrat's top generals will eventually turn against him.
Yang knew this, which is why he adhered to democratic ideals and eschewed personal power
