Jeffrey Wright's Felix Leiter in this is superb and the car AM Vantage, the girl Eva Green. and actually trying to use some of the first book's plot was cool. After Brosnan's Roger Moore-light take, series was really on last legs. CR does a nice job of trying to restart the character. But like Batman, the further you go from hidden detective to blow-shit up in public madness, the less the character works. So the other CR films have sucked going down this route.

As the Saint and in Maverick, he's great. But get the fuck out of here with two Moore films, a Brosnan film in the top 5. Bond doesn't work as the Saint or Remington Steel--he's an assassin not a quippy middle-aged fop--there's no menace in either of them. That said, the Lotus and Barbara Bach in The Spy Who Loved Me are pretty much part of any retrospective of the Films. They may be the best things from the 70's movies.

Whats always been funny to me is, Brosnan said he wanted to do this. He even criticized the amount of gadgets in Die Another Day. Wanted to go back to "basics".
