Childhood is rooting for ripley to defeat weyland corporation in Alien
I believe that when Ash told her "there IS a reasonable explanation for this, you know", he was being completely truthful. As in: the company had knowledge that the Predators/Engineers/Terminators/whoever you like were coming back to fuck up Earth, and they needed to develop their own bioweapon very quickly for humanity to stand a chance. Or some other simple premise along these lines. It would make for a good story element in a further prometheus/alien flick.
>adulthood is accepting that huge advances for human civilization would come from studying and experimenting with the alien dna
When has that ever worked? The closest thing to xenomorphs working for humans is pic related and he's just a synthetic that looks like a xenomorph. 99% of the time Weyland-Yutani just make a xenomorph and immediately get eaten.
Every attempt the company made to capture and study the aliens were a colossal and deadly failure, with or without Ripley’s intervention.
Lets put aside that every time someone tries to control the aliens it goes wrong. Which advancements in human civilization could they give us apart from military?
This can’t be real
Tell me this isn’t real
Jeri is fucking great.
>implying that humanity's natural instinct for self-preservation is a bad thing
Fuck off Burke.
The entire "we want violent alien/animals/dinosaurs to train for war" plot in movies is so fucking dumb.
Name 5 films
That's dumb as fuck, but you know what isn't?
Using violent alien/animal/dinosaur DNA in human soldiers to enhance their natural attributes and make them into indestructible Ubermensch.
Covid-19
Sure that sounds entirely reasonable.
Doesn't the novels or comics have Weyland-Yutani sucessfuly bringing the xenos to earth for experimentation, and they fucked up so bad the entire planet was almost overrun?

Bro, go to a tall building and jump off the roof. I mean, all you need to do is that Superman can fly, and it will become a reality for you!
ascension is understanding that despite the androids being the bad guys, they also did literally nothing wrong.
Analogies have never been Yas Forums's strong point.
>believing in progress
Let it all burn down for once
merkste selber, wa?
progress usually goes hand in hand with tradition burning down.
Nah. 'The villain was actually preparing for an even bigger threat' is played out
I'm not talking about traditions. I just feel like we reached a maximum point in progress and now it is actually just making us unhappy and i want it all to end
progress becomes tradition after time has passed though, thats how it works. I see what you're saying though.
