Oh I watched shrek with user recently as well :)
>Possession
>5 stars
why?
magnificent camera work and excellent, abundant symbolism regarding the disintegration of a marriage due to oppressed and suppressed identities. and Adjani with GOAT-level acting
greentext this with soiface
>everything I disagree is soi
really makes you thunk
does anyone remember that website that gives you two movies and you have to pick which one you like more and the more you do that the better your top 10 is
letterboxd.com
I'm not so self conscious to not just post my fucking account.
Also, I'm gonna roll for what movie to watch next on my Priority Watchlist.
There's more but you asked for recent
The unrated ones I still have to watch (Das Boot is a rewatch, it's my fav movie)
Flickchart?
I've been watching a lotta jesus films
>980 - (254*3) = 218
>The Spirit
Not in the mood for a superhero movie, even if it's not the usual thing. Reroll.
>115
>How to Irritate People
Sure.
yes
How was the new Jumanji and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood? I hold the original Jumanji dear to heart. I thought the new one was decent, especially with the RPG flavor it had, but it doesn't compare IMO.
I'm sure Hanks did well in ABDitN.
Westworld the movie or the show? I dropped it about halfway through season 2, it had become quite atrocious. I heard the end of season 2 and season 3 are really good, though.
Is it true The Gentlemen is arguably Guy Ritchie's best gangster work for those who love his style? A friend whose opinions I credit told me he liked it more than Snatch and Two Smoking Barrels.
How is A Monster Calls?
Great list! What did you think of Ad Astra and The Lighthouse? And how is The House That Jack Built? I haven't been impressed with Von Trier since before Nymphomaniac.
The Seventh Seal is fantastic!
Actually had to go make an entry in TMDb for Hun Pilots
it was shit
haven't even seen it lol your post is just gay
Dam man you watch some pretty stupid shit.
>Is it true The Gentlemen is arguably Guy Ritchie's best gangster work for those who love his style? A friend whose opinions I credit told me he liked it more than Snatch and Two Smoking Barrels.
Nah, I wouldn't put it anywhere near those. Still quite good though.
>How is A Monster Calls?
I enjoyed it a lot. Like most sad movies it's really predictable, but I don't think that takes much away from it.
I hate Ad Astra with every fiber of my being. I found it shit in the same way I found Alien Covenant shit - entire plot work only because everyone is retarded. I guess there is some meaning hidden in there but I eluded me.
Lighthouse I still have to watch.
The House That Jack Built is 2deep4u but it's self aware of that. I think the more you search for meaning in it the less you find. I probably won't rewatch it ever but at least it didn't left me angry that I wasted my time like Ad Astra.
couldn't care less what you think
Hitchcock, Bergman, Kubrick, Dassin, Zulawski, Mankiewicz, and Becker are stupid? what do you watch?
>Thief: 3
the last 20-30 minutes lowered it from solid 6 to 3 for me
>everyone is retarded
Would you mind expanding on that? What makes everyone stupid?
I think if you've seen 2001 and read Heart of Darkness, you may appreciate the movie more. To me, it clearly conveyed that validation comes from within, not from the outside - not even if it's your own father whose favor you were never able to fully earn. Pitt's character crossed the solar system just to learn that much.
Also, I think we can agree the aesthetic and much of the cinematography was great, no?
Original list. Don't think I've heard of any of these. I'll look into Grandmother and Dark Story since you've rated those quite highly.
Godfather 1-3
The Lighthouse
Munich
Goldeneye
Manhattan
Dazed and Confused
Two Popes
Big Fish
I regret thinking so highly of reds
>Faust 1994
Is this good? What resolution is your copy? Today I bought a dvd of Little Otik off ebay, looking forward to seeing that.
>Godfather II
>3.5 (C+)
>The Conversation
>3 (C)
very fun and quality list. I fucking love Dazed and Confused. Big Fish, Manhattan, The Lighthouse, and The Godfather trilogy are all classics as well!
lol I used to love Reds as well, years and years ago.
>HoD angle
well, I didn't think about it like that but it makes sense - like I said the meaning eluded me
as for stupid shit in the movie
>the death of the 3 crew members killed by Pitt straight out of slapstick comedy
>at the end Pitt's character celebrated as a hero and not court martialed or shot on the spot when leaving the capsule FOR STEALING A FUCKING ROCKET WITH A NUKE AND KLILLING 3 PEOPLE IN PROGRESS
>the entire part about sending a message to the Pitt's father - why not just nuke him and be done with it?
Pirated copy, 720x576. Quality was fine. Great movie
