he just ain't funny

Joe is sort of autistic. People like him because he is well known and a celebrity. He is likable in other ways. But the reason his comedy is successful is because he has enough social status from being on tv that people came to see him. He is good at having stage presence, and he can be spontaneously funny in conversation. But his jokes are not funny.

>what do you mean weed doesn't cure every disease?
>jamie, pull up confirmation bias

he's a jock

He's not unfunny. He's just not nearly as funny as he SHOULD be given how seriously he takes stand up and how much he likes to analyze it and talk about it like it's a science.

His passion might be comedy, but he's a better podcast host than a comedian

weed luhmowh

he isn't funny at all. It's not just that he, for instance, needs to work on his content or his delivery. He literally lacks the funny gene, he just isn't built to be funny and you can see that clear as day when he brings on actual talented comedic performers

He was only funny in News Radio

haha hey it's the fear factor guy
haha hey it's the podcast guy

He says he gives his writing a second pass after smoking weed. Maybe this doesn't work as great as he thinks it does.

>google joe rogan best bit
>click on first video
>turn it off 7 seconds in
i really don't know, his standup is just retarded

Joe introduces himself as a comedian before anything else

lmao

He will forever and always be the fear factor guy. Nothing more. I think this scares the shit out of him.

What amazes me is how he has this weird harem of b-list comedians that are his “friends” worshipping the ground he walks on. I actually went and tried 2 of his comedy specials because I literally never knew he was a comedian and everyone was saying he was so good. Hard pass after 5 - 10 mins each show. I’m sorry joe just stick to interviews and chimps.

What is weird is he talks about comedy like no one else that I've ever heard before. (Comedian's I mean) He really goes above and beyond to portray comedy as an art of sort, which I suppose it is. You have to be able to read a room, execute your timing with the punchline etc etc but he takes it to a whole new level of pretension.

I was surprised by how good he was in it but otherwise he's a pretty shitty comedian

Because that's where he started in show business. All his early showbiz friends are now famous comedians, and he wants to fit in.

And people still pay to watch it so fuck it, why not keep doing it?

He called out Carlos Mencia that one time...

He has the steps backward. Smoke, write, sober up, edit is the correct sequence.

I watched an episode of his podcast where he had Candance Owen's (I think?) She made some remark that people knew him more so from ufc and fear factor and no so much for his comedy. Joe looked pretty crushed by that and tried to put her right.

His most popular venture to this date is his podcast. I can guarantee it's had more viewers than fear factor. His comedy sucks and he should just stick to podcasts/color commentary.

>there are these comedians that are surrounded by yes men and this they never improve
>awkward silence

Joe is delusional. Other comedians just ride his coattails for easy career boosts. I refuse to believe any comedian worth his salt actually liked Strange Times.

Because being funny isnt a skill you can hone, it's a gift from god

None of his friends are funny either. Apart from Bill Burr and Tom Segura occasionally.

Well his dialogue was written for him. Hes charismatic, but not witty

Then bottled it when Schumer was doing the same thing.

>he can be spontaneously funny in conversation

Honestly I've never witnessed this.

he can't, he just isn't naturally funny

>His most popular venture to this date is his podcast
Only with young men on the internet. I guarantee the average person doesn't know about it while fear factor was a network show and international phenomenon

I just find his laugh contagious sometimes honestly

tom segura is genuinely good and not just occasionally. i think bert kreischer is funny, but only as a guy i can laugh at on a podcast, his standup is even more unwatchable than joe's.
i watched an ari shaffir special a couple of months ago and think his technique is pretty good, but his comedy isn't my cup of tea

>rogan starts doing a bit
>guest politely chuckles a little
>rogan gets that look in his eyes
>he finds it funny! keep it going! keep it going!

The Mencia shit was much more blatant. Mencia would purposely bump the comics he was stealing from to go in before their set as a way to fuck them over and had been doing it for years Schumer you could argue was parallel thinking.

Joe has too much ego to be funny. Almost all great comedians share self loathing and neuroticism in common. The irony about Joe is he spends so much time trying to convince himself and others that he's mastered his ego through his dmt trips and yet he still gets so uncomfortable at the slightest good natured ribbing at his expense.

Here's the redpill, short and sweet.
Modern comedy is basically a networking game of knowing the right people and doing some gigs then waiting for the netflix call.

Also notice how every podcaster, internet personality or eceleb is a "comedian" because it's just an appearance vehicle where they go to sell merch and autographs among other shit. It's like ebegging but irl. If all the boomers/older millenials doing this were younger they'd have patreons instead, which is equally pathetic.

Video?

and then he starts fucking shouting and the guest just has to uncomfortably shuffle his feet and laugh until Rogan stops doing his bit

pure pottery, every time

He's funny off the cuff, but his standup is borderline unwatchable. Literally an hour of screaming and DUDE WEED.
