Twin Peaks: The Return prepared waters for uncompromising auteur series like Berlin Alexanderpalatz to come back. The next one will start a wave.

god I love NIN so much

ruins my suspension of disbelief that trent reznor is 5'4

(by the "next one" not meaning the next Twin Peaks if it ever comes out, but the next wholly auteur series, with almost no interference into the director's work).

Pure unadulterated kino, the likes of which will not be seen for another century

episode 8 is overrated, for me it's episode 3 where the black lodge guides mr. jackpots through the casino and when it first aired you had no idea what the fuck was going on but it was kino nonetheless

HELLLOOOOOOOOOO

>Nine Inch Nails
more like Five Inch Nails am i right?

>mfw nothing you see will ever come close to this again
Why live

GOTTA LIGHT?

TOTDY could've been at least on par with this if it took itself less seriously and if it had a better ending.

UUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HAHAHAHA HAAAAAAAAAAAA

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ... kino.

i will be famous in a few years and I will make a tv show set in small town in the Tornado Alley and it will deal with depressing life of constantly needing to rebuild your life after a disaster and losing loved ones. It will be extremely depressing and will feature a 40 minute scene of a couple just standing near a grave mourning their dead son

Better be in black and white with key objects in colour.

any scene that involved cooper and coffee was kino

The original show was about 'who killed Laura Palmer' and it started sucking the second they answered that question. Season 3 is about 'what the fuck is this show even about anymore' and never fully answers that question. The answer's probably what Laura whispers to Cooper in the 2nd episode - that's probably why it's the last image over the credits.

Rewatching the whole show from start to finish right now in quarantine. Up to episode 4 of season 1, I forgot how comfy and funny the show was at first.

Sorrentino did that with Young Pope and New Pope

/tpg/ will forever live on

How many of you had Twin Peaks/Monica Bellucci related dreams prior and/or during The Return airing? I had one about Lynch days before the first 4 eps hit and then had the Monica one after I saw the episode she was in.

I’m assuming I know the answer to this question already, but do I need to watch everything Twin Peaks before this?

Yes, not only do you have to, but you also should. It aged quite well and is overall great, especially if you like Lynch and the idea of Blue Velvet and Dallas combined..

>forgetting the greatest musical guest
I can't believe Lynch had the balls to put them on TV

Yes. And take your time with it.

Season 1
Season 2
Fire Walk With Me
Missing Pieces
The Return

Frost wrote two whole books of lore as well.

Yep. See here: But I must warn you that season 2 has a fairly drastic dip in quality before the season's halfway over and it lasts for about 10 or episodes. They're pretty bad and you'll probably want to quit. Don't. The final 3-ish episodes save it and the season 2 finale is one of the best things Lynch ever directed and I'm still kinda amazed that this: youtube.com/watch?v=KlIlWsQ2FEk
aired on national television.

>Berlin Alexanderpalatz
Never seen it. Just looked it up - 15 hours long and in German. What makes it so good? Because it's clearly really loved and respected.

>calm down Audrey, I have paperwork.

I'm not a breeder so I dont dream about monica belluci

Isn't the point to get him to watch instead of spoiling iconic scenes? Idiot
