It was the best stand alone book so I was pretty excited for the movie, but the movie was pretty trash breh. What really worked for the book was the internal monologue. It's usually not very important in HP books because Rowling can't write personality very well but Harry had some genuine feelings about Sirius Black, imagining their life together, etc. and that is all thrown out the window in this one.

It's the best-directed but the worst-acted movie I've ever seen, I've never seen anything quite like it. The pacing, script, visuals, shots, were all fine. It was the 14-year olds who couldn't act who brought the whole thing down.
Prisoner of Azkaban was this awkward transition period where Daniel Radcliffe/Emma Watson hit their mid-teens, stopped being kid actors, and started thinking of themselves as serious thespians or whatever, and they clearly tried so fucking hard with movie #3 through #5. Just spawned a ton of memes about movie Harry being a hormonal ragetard and Hermione generally got a pass because an entire generation grew up jerking off to her.
