Deemed as a dark episode in the history of filmmaking

>deemed as a dark episode in the history of filmmaking
>critics only namedrop it because of its historical value
>cinephiles in general hate it
>review sites have its entry filled with 1-star ratings and posters either expressing disgust or claiming that they couldn't even finish it
>finally get around to watch it
>expect a total snorefest
>turns out it's very exciting from beginning to end
Why is this movie neglected by the public the way it is? It's on par with the overpraised titles that came after it, sometimes even better than them.

>black filmmaker steals the title of that movie to try and eclipse it
>gets metoo’ed and his movie fades into obscurity
lol

What are you on about?
Most people realise it was revolutionary in its filmmaking techniques, they just think it had a racist propaganda plot

Only thing better than it is Triumph of the Will.

Leni Riefenstahl copied Sergei Eisenstein.

Nice try kike.

Is there actually a high-quality version of it out there?

What an amazing poster. Would love to hang it on my walls

Literally none of that's true though. It is widely regarded as a masterwork, and one of the (or possibly the one) greatest achievements in cinema history, even despite its topic.
It's so good, that even antiracists will accept that it's one of the best, despite it also being one of the most racist.

>it isn't even about reconstruction
fucking retard

me on the right

Nice try, thot

>antiracists
you can just say ‘people’, ‘intelligent people’, ‘non-retards’, etc.

He a gud boi. He didn't do nuffin (he wuz goin to college).

>cinephiles
Cinephiles have a deep respect for it even if it makes them seethe, in fact it could be argued that it being pretty much a required mention in any film history class even when it's considered racist propaganda is a testament to its legacy.
>review sites
Nobody cares

You found it interesting? Oh ok. Well Ben-Hur it's not to say the least even that from the 20s.

gone with the wind is worse in every way but it doesn't have the stigma of literally being about the clan so it gets passes

Griffith and Eisenstein were the only kino makers. Everything else is shit.

'based'. It's just the color of your skin. Racism is just stupid and ignorant.

You've seen half of Triumph of the Will just by wathing some documentaries about the Third Reich so much gets taken from there. And it is like a simple documentary with a few more ambitious shots here and there but annoyingly without a single one of that impressive lightshow that was there I have no idea why.

>cinephiles in general hate it
Not really. It is a bit boring tho. Intolerance was much better. Still. Griffith was a genius filmmaker and a true visionary. Whoever says the opposite have no idea what he's talking about

it's your genes

Did you have a stroke user?

My genes are fine thank you

It's not worse when it comes to romance which it wins by simply not being an absolute snoozefest. Gone With the Wind is 95% romance so it can't have a lot of battle scenes anyway. Cinematography too. Also acting. Easily.

brainwashed,indoctrinated

You know why

they're not if you're here

>it's your genes
I'm not comfortable with this conversation.

That's fair, I always suspected I was retarded.

He came up with a lot of techniques first. Or at least that's how history remembers him. It's still very boring I haven't seen Intolerance maybe it's more like the 20s movies which is when the history of cinema starts for good fully matured.

I don't know, it was kinda boring to be honest, not as boring as Triumph of the will but still boring.

>Intolerance was much better.
Bullshit. Only people who say this are cowards who know how influential BOAN was but don't have the balls to acknowledge it.
