Personally I don't understand all the hype about this series.
Is there some "crazy" stuff going on? Sure, but other than a suicide and big cat attacks caught on video, there wasn't anything you haven't already seen on something like Jerry Springer.
The sex cult, arson, and pending murder investigation stuff wasn't as insane as others have made it out to be really.
If anything, there is some valuable lessons to be learned from the series.
For instance, keep your passions/desperation in check or others can take advantage of you (just look at the video game industry ). When entering a business partnership, have a contact and understand every single part of it. Keep important documents safeguarded outside of your office with a trusted third-party (especially if you think someone is plotting your death for their gain). If you want to publicly shoot off your mouth and gun(s); then realize that while you have the freedom to do both of those things in the (mostly rural) US, it still matters how and who you're talking about. And if you're going to willing take part in shady activities, don't record it with paperwork, emails, text messages, etc. or you'll pay dearly for it with someone else's plea deal.
In the end, I'm more curious as to why this particular series has caught the current world by storm then if Carole was involved in her husband's death or if Jeff set Joe Exotic up the whole time.
(Oh, on a side note, I've actually been to The Greater Wynnwood Tiger Sanctuary and there's a 360° picture on Google Maps with my wife and I visiting the baby tigers in the nursery. The place seemed kinda sketchy at the time (2018), but it was my wife's dream to play with a baby tiger and I'm glad I got the chance to make that dream come true for her.)
