Mummy 2017
Dracula.
Also, who's hype for the Universal Monsters world in the new Universal Epic Universe park in Florida?
What? Source?
Dracula's henchman Spin off:
>In November 2019, it was announced that a film centered Count Dracula's henchman, R. M. Renfield is in development. The project was greenlit following a pitch to the studio from Robert Kirkman. Dexter Fletcher signed on as director, with a script by Ryan Ridley. The film will be a joint-venture production between Universal Studios, and Skybound Entertainment. Kirkman, David Alpert, Bryan Furst, and Sean Furst serving as producers.
Frankenstein reboot:
>In the same press-release, James Wan was announced to serve as producer on a Frankenstein reboot film.[35] The Invisible Man producer Jason Blum told the horror podcast The Evolution of Horror that he wanted to work on the film.In March it was announced that Robbie Thompson was hired to serve as screenwriter, with the plot revolving around a group of teenagers who discover that a neighbor is creating a monster in their basement. The project will be developed under Wan's production banner, Atomic Monster Productions
The Invisible Woman:
>Elizabeth Banks was later announced to star in, direct and produce The Invisible Woman, based on her own original pitch. The screenplay, a reboot of the titular character, is being written by Erin Cressida Wilson. Max Handelman will also serve as producer.
Monster Mash musical:
>In February 2020, a musical titled Monster Mash was announced to be in development. Grammy Award nominee Matt Stawski will make his feature film directorial debut, while Will Widger will serve as screenwriter, from an original story written by Stawski. The project will be a joint-venture production between Universal Pictures and Temple Hill Entertainment. Marty Bowen will serve as producer.
Bride of Frankenstein reboot:
>Later that month, it was announced that Amy Pascal will serve as producer for The Bride of Frankenstein. Her production studio Pascal Pictures, will develop the project, while filmmakers John Krasinski and Sam Raimi have had discussions with the studio to serve as director. The studio is courting David Koepp to once again serve as screenwriter. Variety stated that Feig, Banks, and Krasinski were each given options to develop films from the roster of monsters owned by Universal Pictures.
John Krasinski Vampire movie(Van Helsing?):
>While this must all be taken with a heavy serving of (garlic) salt, according to film scooper and reporter Daniel Richtman, and in a report by HN Entertainment, it was said that John Krasinski plans to write and direct a project “set in the world of vampires.” While it must be said that a film “set in the world of vampires” doesn’t necessarily indicate Van Helsing, it would not be surprising to see Universal want to turn their attention to this property, much like how The Invisible Man was the second film to be announced ahead of The Mummy (2017), and while it didn’t turn out to be the Johnny Depp feature, it still was made.

Is Invisible Man 2020 worth watching?
It would be great if not for jekyll and monster verse. They had every ingredient.
half of these will not happen, why do they announce all of that and then flush it down the toilet? we were supposed to get bride of frankenstain in 2019 and invisible man with johnny depp actually focused on invisible man, not crazy scientologish bitch
Those movies were part of Dark Universe, these are not. That's why those got cancelled. We will still get bride but mummy 2017 flopped and changed the Cinematic Universe plans. Standalones from now on, also, the invisible man script with Johnny Depp was reused for the 2020 one but changed.
still half of these 'standalones' will not happen
I hope Monster Mash, Adam Driver Dracula, Dark Army and John Krasinski movies to happen.
Depends, Invisible Man was a success and critical acclaimed. Dracula is next soon. Monster Mash already has a director and script, Dark Army has Feig and he does some rewrites, he said the film will happen.
Dracula reboot:
>On March 10, 2020, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Karyn Kusama will direct a Dracula remake for Blumhouse. Possibly starring Adam Driver(?).
Dark Army:
>In September 2019, it was announced that a film titled Dark Army is in development. The film will feature monsters from the original movies, as well as new characters. Paul Feig will serve as director, from a script of his own. He will serve as co-producer with Laura Fischer. The project will be a joint production between Universal Pictures and Feigco Productions. The filmmaker stated that The Bride of Frankenstein will be a major influence on his project.

>“I really want this to bring the same feeling that those old monster movies that I loved growing up watching [did]. I’m not as interested in doing a horror movie as I am in doing a true monster film. So, hopefully that will see the light of day. You never know in Hollywood these days, but I love it. I’m very excited about it. I’m excited about the characters that I’ve created and about some of the ones that I’ve been able bring over from the old movies.”
There is a Munsters reboot also in the works for Peacock thought I'm not sure if they are considered part of the Universal Monsters franchise.
and Bride was already in production but they pussied out
>"That was a heartbreaker, really," Condon said. "We were involved, we were prepping, we were deep into it, and I have to say … the simplest way to say it is that I think The Mummy, and not to say anything against the movie, but the fact that that hadn’t worked for them and it was the beginning of this whole reinvention of their monsters gave them cold feet at the end of the day. Because David Koepp was writing the script, I thought it was unbelievably good, and we were on the verge of making a really beautiful movie, I thought. So that was a shame.”

Yes, I said because of the mummy bombing they decided to cancel all their projects and rethink their plans. They decided to lets filmakers do whatever they want with their characters.
Bleh
I liked Jeckyl
Why does everything have to be a cinematic universe?
I don't understand how Universal Monsters works. Netflix has a Dracula show yet Universal doesn't have anything to do with it? Do Universal really own the characters or not?
1.This is not a Cinematic Universe, Universal is making standalones now.
2.Universal Monsters created the Cinematic Universe formula.
3.Money.
APOLOGIZE
If they think the mummy bombed (in fact it is one of the highest grossing tom cruise movies, if you exclude obvious mission impossible franshise) then i have bad news - they will never see any of these movies making numbers even close to the mummy
therichest.com
top 5 is all about mission impossible series but the mummy is just behind war of worlds and last samurai, making it 8th
fuck greedy hollywood jews and their 'creative accounting'
I think universal realised this with the invisible man. The movie was not good though.
Based Tom. Also The Mummy holds record for his biggest opening weekend. Fuck haters. They should just scrap this monster universe and turn Nick Morton into a new and original adventurer to replace aging Indiana Jones.
Faggot
People cared about the mummy and she was barely in it.
The Mummy did the same mistake as 90s movie - focused it on adventures of random guy instead a horror story involving the mummy. The fact that people remember that JUST meme retyard more than mummy perfectly shows the problem with these movies. 2017 had indeed much better 'monster' character as she was indeed a mummy - bandaged, rotten and exotic. Unfortunately they gave her way to little to do. Shame. It's supposed to be 'The Mummy', not 'Random dudes and a mummy'.
