Why wasn’t it as good as Buffy?
Angel
It was though and better in some parts.
I liked it more than Buffy
dude, it was even better what the fuck are you on about
This. Op sucks dicks.
it was awful in everything that wasn't Darla or Wolfram centric.
Angel has the personality of a fucking tomato and can't carry a show, everybody's personalities were in constant flux (Wesley, Cordi)... a lot of lame plot arcs.
good for Buffy backstory but otherwise reeked of producer meddling
Because it was better.
I would rather believe samefagging than that this much shit taste exists in the world
>look at me i'm a contrarian
Angel is regarded as one of the best, IF NOT the best spinoff ever created. Get fucked.
> being the only right one in a thread inherently means my motivation is being contrarian
but I now recognize that you're being intentionally retarded as bait and am happy to leave you to it
It was better in some ways, superior character development and story arcs, higher production values for most of its run, and it has Lorne who is one of the most memorable TV characters ever.
But overall Buffy is the better show, as there are just so many more great episodes, it's funnier, more charming, and had a very special niche that Angel just didn't scratch for me.
Being the only idiot in a thread who disagrees just to stir shit up while ignoring years of people and news outlets praising the show. You just want to pick up a fight because you must be pretty bored in lockdown right now. So am I, so bring it, fucker.
You just know these two got together at least once. Buffy would have been kinda shy and awkward about whereas faith just took the lead... God I'm so hard right now!
>disagrees just to stir shit up while ignoring years of people and news outlets praising the show
>someone says like something so I like it
still struggling to believe this isn't bait. who exactly is this "everybody says Angel is good," and even if they exist I'm not obligated to care
one hopes
Because Doyle died
It was better
I thought buffsters consider it as good if not sometimes better
OP SUCKS VAMPIRE COCK
I would say the last 2 seasons of Angel completely outclass Buffy, but overall Buffy is the superior series.
Kinda was
Whenever I try to watch it I stop around the time Connor shows up. Help me bros, i haven't been able to finish it since i was a kiddo
season 4 was absolute shit. It only had a couple of good episodes at the start because they had a different show runner, and it actually looked a lot better, but he got fired because of creative differences.
Yeah, it was a better show overall
But nothing can top the musical episode of Buffy
Just skip the season until the last 2/3 episodes user and move on to season 5.
The angel character was always cringe.
The mutt girl wasn't too hot. I liked that green dude, but overall it wasn't as good as Buffy, which also wasn't that great to begin with.
What's absolute shit is your opinion. Every episode was great, only reason people hate it is because the Connor/Cordelia shit which isn't even that bad. It's pure groupthink
God damn I'm sick of hearing this. Angel was never as good as Buffy at any point.
You guys always retroactively conflate the high point final series as the level of quality Angel was at all along and it simply wasn't. S1 and 2 were dull, series 3 was alright I guess, series 4 was an utter abortion, series 5 was pretty good. Buffy has 5 strong series under it's belt, and at least 3 of those would go under great tier.
They literally study Buffy as an exemplar of how good TV can get
>They literally study Buffy as an exemplar of how good TV can get
I love Buffy but, if you're defending it because a bunch of blue haired feminist retards study it in their gender classes and have "Buffy's impact on feminism" seminars, that's not impressive
yes
Buffy has: The Body, Hush, Once More with Feeling, Becoming Pt 1&2, Passion, Tabula Rasa, Fool for Love
What has Angel got? Hero and Not Fade Away?
Five by Five/Sanctuary
Guise Will Be Guise
Waiting in the Wings
Spin the Bottle
Salvage/Release/Orpheus
Home
Smile Time
A Hole in the World/Shells
I watched it like 10 years ago, without reading any forum posts related to the series, and thought it was bad.
Every episode feels very low budget because they're mostly stuck in the hotel or some kind of set. Early on in the series you would see a lot of exterior shots, and it felt like it was about LA.
The only good plots in the season were about Wesley and Faith. Everything else was garbage, especially Jasmine.
It had the highest budget of any season. The Beast was incredible. The entire arc where Faith breaks out of opinion is the peak of the series. The Wesley and Lilah relationship and Wesley becoming a bitter anti-hero. The episode where they all revert to their teenage selves which was great. That finale.
Sorry but you're wrong. Also Jasmine was creepy as shit, with that xenomorph smile.
