Are they seriously making a 2nd series? Ffs.

THEY'LL NEVER STOP STAR TREK
HAVE NO FEAR, WE'VE GOT STORIES FOR YEARS
LIKE- PICARD BECOMES A ROBOT
MAYBE SEVEN GETS SCISSORED
HAS RIKER EVER OWNED A STARSHIP
HOW ABOUT A NEW CRAZY HOLOGRAM
AND SOMETHING HAPPENS DOO DOO DEE DOO
SORRY FOR THIS SEASON
HAVE NO FEAR, WE'VE GOT STORIES FOR YEARS

>Picard visits Geordi
>Now a PTSD wreck of a human being from witnessing the Utopia Planetia attack that we've only seen in flashbacks.
>Geordi sees Jean-Luc, first thing he does is punch him.
>"Where the fuck were you, J? (Geordi's new nickname for Picard). You were the acting admiral in charge of Mars, and you let us all down! My life has been a living hell repeating that day over and over again in my mind.
>"I'm sorry, Geordi! I'm a failure! I still need your help though. Please just this once more time. Also I'm now a robot."

kurtzman pls go

>twenty minute monologue about how hard it was being a black man in Starfleet

In America we call them seasons. Series means the specific show.

Kek
Accurate

>Geordi sees Jean-Luc, first thing he does is punch him

ugh so accurate. fuck kurtzman forever

That's Smart.

Capt. Leforge commands the USS Challenger a refitted Galaxy class starship.

Help me out here

>Picard is dying of a rare brain disease
>Riker's son died of a rare brain disease
>they mention he could have been cured by using a positronic brain implant, but those can't be made anymore because androids were banned
>Picard discovers a planet of androids
>they give him a positronic brain impl - LOL J/K HE FUCKING DIES AND THEY BUILD A ROBOT WITH HIS MEMORIES

Like plot holes with prior Trek storylines is one thing, but how the fuck does Picard manage to immediately shit on the Picard canon?

>S1 featured Data (Geordi's best friend) and Hugh (the Borg Geordi was the closest too)
>No need to bring back Geordi

>S2 takes place after both Data and Hugh have been killed off
>Let's bring bak La Forge!

???

Math is hard and sheet

Two entirely different types of illnesses. One was a robo-virus, the other is space-age related.

>tfw it's real

The guys who write Star Trek Picard don't watch Star Trek Picard

The first one was said to be a silicon based virus. Which shouldn't do shit to humans, because there wouldn't any silicon available for it to self-replicate.

I assumed the only point of the story at all was to establish "robots fix brain problem" but nope

Well with TNG the crew thought Data had been dead since Nemesis. Nobody had a clue that a mad scientist took a robo-nerve-cell and made a suicidal virtual Data on some mystery planet.

Well la de da.

Kek, how did this storyline get green lit?

It'll never be brought up again, but if it would they'll hand-wave it away as being some rogue Borg nano-particles that became a space disease.

Also we produce more than three episodes in a year!

>be american
>be born
>give tip

I wish I were LeVar Burton

>HOW ABOUT A NEW CRAZY HOLOGRAM
There's like a million problems with Picard, but the fact that the entire season resolves around how the Federation banned androids, but it is still perfectly fine with sentient holograms really annoyed me.

Literally the only good part of Picard season one was when Riker turned up commanding the fleet of ships.

Holograms have never gone haywire and put people in danger.

In much the same way that transporters are actually the safest way to travel and anyone hesitant about them is just being paranoid

What if the point of the series is to change the timeline in order to save Data and prevent STP from ever happening?

Discovery already retconned itself out of existence, we're not lucky enough to do it twice

>TMP
>2 people die in a horrific transporter accident
>10 minutes later
>McCoy you cranky old country doctor, why don't you want to use the transporter?

>perfect chance to pick a new actor and retire aging stewart while shifting picard personality to a "new one" with a perfect explanation
>lol nope he just the same also same lifespam like he didnt have teh brain disesase only he synth now :)))))))
not like they would find a proper actor
also would have been carried like shit
this whole series was shit from the ground up

will they give him dreadlocks?

Trek doesn't do time travel anymore to undo things. Not since 2009. No more warping around the sun and saving wales type shit now.

I stopped being interested when I realized that Picard is dead. It's just a robo picard who I feel nothing for.

well well well, now Geordi's going to die

I never tip, waiters are all drug addicts who will never remember my boring face.

Geordi will be a broken man. No ability to style his hair. Most likely shaved bald or just patches of hair where he pulled most of it out. Remember this is depressing dark future sci-fi now.

What happened?

>YO PIC MY NIG HOWYA DOIN DAWG

Season 2 ends with them travelling 1000 years into the future and everyone back in the 23rd century saying "this is all classified and we will never mention it to anyone."

Voyager had an entire arc about sentient Holograms rebelling, getting loose, hunting down and trying to wipe out the entire civilaization who created them.

>Picard is dead
Thats the dumbest plot twist Ive ever heard of. I hate how hard Trek made you sympathize with robots. I never could care its a fucking machine its not a person.

The Discovery flew through a portal to the year 3187. In the 2250s, Pike and Spock declared that the Discovery and its crew officially never existed and anyone who so much as mentions any of them at any point (including Spock's sister) will be guilty of treason against the Federation.

The entire show has been rebooted and will take place in 3187 from now on, a SUPER dystopian nightmare galaxy where almost every world is in ruin and the crew of the Discovery will have to recreate the Federation all over again

HEY! I REMEMBER GEORDI! I SHOULD WASTE HOURS OF MY LIFE WATCHING A SHIT SHOW SO I GET TO SEE HIM AGAIN!

that would never happen, who'd be that stupid

It's not really a machine though. These new "androids" are literally flesh and blood and completely indistinguishable from humans (which makes them completely pointless).

Picard however is definitely dead, this is no different than replacing him with a clone, it's a new person.

They literally did an Armin Tanzarian, railcar and all

Wow that looks terrible and i just realised this is going to suck without Pike

That's some appalling directing right there

Quality > Quantity

YOU TOLD ME HE HAD MORE DIGNITY THAN THIS SHIT

FUCK YOU Yas Forums

I hate Alex Kurtzman so much, that sounds horrible

>Soji is literally just a human being, human skin, human blood, human bones, human organs, totally indistinguishable from a regular born and raised homo sapiens
>also she can punch straight through steel plating, jump 50+ feet and run faster than most sports cars
How does that work, like how does she not horribly mangle herself doing all that superhuman shit then

You can tell Blade Runner androids apart from humans because they're autistic and can't relate to stories about helping turtles or remembering their moms.

So, Andromeda again?

They made that show years ago and it was called Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda

>The Discovery flew through a portal to the year 3187
I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS.

Their entire plan was about stopping the evil AI from getting the data, and since they can't destroy it, they have to send it far into the future. But in the final battle, they destroy the evil AI. There was no zero rush or immediate threat. They had all the time in the world to figure out a way to either destroy the data, or to send it to the future remotely so no one had to go with it. It's a "noble sacrifice" scene where the danger ended 5 minutes before the sacrifice takes place.

Holy fuck, that's insanely terrible writing.

The good news for you is they're giving Pike his own series, all the trouble they went through for 2250 Enterprise sets and casting (including wrangling Rebecca Romjin to do nothing) was a backdoor pilot

They mention "augmentation" which I assume means their bodies have the same genetic engineering as Khan and the augments from Enterprise.

I just want cute Vulcan lolis. MAKE IT SO PEDO ONE

is anyone else enraged by the editing and camera angle choices alone?

What's with these new series and their 'quirky' frumpy female characters?

>they just flat out forget that she murdered someone and joke around with her, even the one who was the daughter of the victim.

Everyone hated Michael and wanted to get rid of her no matter what

Star Trek has never been good about this. I recall it being established ages ago that Vulcans are "three times" stronger than humans which means that every physical confrontation ever between a human and a Vulcan/Romulan should have ended very quickly and brutally.
