I'm so sick of hearing boomers talking about Practical FX are better then CGI, it's the dumbest argument I've ever heard. look at this pic and tell me its not the cheesiest thing you've ever seen? with CGI, it might have not looked 100% realistic but far more then this!
its the reason why I cant watch any 80s sci-fi movies like Aliens or Terminator and such, I just end up laughing at how cheesy and corny they look. the Xenomorphs look like they belong on the set of power rangers then on a bug budget hollywood film.
furthermore, CGI is the heir to stop motion animation, its the heir to the work of O'Brian and Rey Harryhausen. The effect from stuff like predator is more akin to those trash godzilla films. when defending practical over CGI, you're essentially saying a guy in a rubber suit is better then the work that is the heir of king kong.
Back to plebbit with your npc nonsense. Also, have sex.

I kind of agree with you, even tho in most things, except horror practical is worth it's salt. I think the patrician choice is mix practical with cgi, think about the first Iron man or lord of the rings, even jurassic Park. Use both of them will triumph a single one regardless every time.

$800,000 of CGI >>> $50,000 of practical effects >> $50,000 of cgi = $10,000 of practical effects >> $1000 bad cgi youbsee in most infdie horror movies

I think the "CG BAD" shit is retarded and I don't even understand why that's supposedly a Reddit opinion, since I'm pretty sure those fags fell for that meme too, but The Thing does honestly look impressive to this day
