depression has helped me immensely in my introspection and the crystallization of my world view. being happy all the time makes you vapid, happy pills make you muddled with optimism, which is a form of cowardice in refusing to face the dark side inherent to all existence. plants may grow in the sun, but seeds need dark, isolated and cavernous places to germinate.
