The movie was a fucking mess. After they get the woman back after she murdered Neil Patrick Harris she gets questioned, one guy asks her how she stabbed him shen she was tied down, she just says "lol I'm a bit tired, I don't want to talk anymore", and then they let it go. It was also an hour too long, the movie ended halfway but then wanted to keep going.

the whole arc of the film is that amy is really good at telling people what they expect to hear, thus confirming their unconscious biases. the detective would have assumed the husband and amy fed that that belief, the feds assumed she was a poor victimized woman and amy fed that belief too
