those chitari were from 2014 so in the attack in new york already happened. The movie establishes that changing the past doesn't change the future, because when you travel back in time you're not going backwards in your own timeline but actually travelling to a different one, an alternate universe. So Gamora not meeting the original Quill in the universe that 2014 Thanos came from doesn't matter. Pay attention to the movie
