What was his fucking problem?
What was his fucking problem?
Infinite power corrupts infinitely
Being white
imagine being raised by hamsters, thinking you are one and trying your best to follow hamster rules, and then realizing you're a fucking person and suddenly hating hamsters with your entire being for trying to keep you held down at their level, and also realizing you could easily just kill all of them
I think that's the concept
if that were true there would be no such thing as gentle giants, we wouldn't have a society at all. the strong would crush the weak and we would still be stuck in the stone age or some shit. instead we are often humbled by creatures that are totally inferior to us.
trips beat dubs, and you're being naive
What happens when 2 strong men work together? Whats happen when 5 strongmen work together to spit those 2? Do you now know how civilization started?
He got shot down by that cutie
This i can't remember why. she just was disgusted by him all of a sudden.
No, that would've made for an interesting and nuanced movie, instead he just turns evil because he's an alien.
He was an incel.
you looking at it too simply doesn't mean the movie is too simple
that said, the movie IS too simple and it sucks. but not because it didn't contain the concept to you failed to grasp, but because they didn't do anything beyond play that concept out.
I think he creeped her out by dropping his spaghetti and spying on her. He shows up to her room that one time in a twist on the “Superman surprising Lois on the balcony” scene and it just weirds her out, then he overreacts and gets mad.
Probably could’ve saved the whole world if she had been just a little easier or he had just talked to her a little bit first
Yes, it's implied he was sent here to eradicate the native species like those wasps in the beginning, and by turning evil he's just 'fulfilling his programming', which is much more boring than examining concepts like an invincible child with a God complex or becoming evil because he kills those he cares about because he can't control his powers.
Momma Grace did not review his movie.
They kind of suggest it’s in his nature and/or he’s brainwashed by the ship when it shoots him with that light and tells him he was sent there to Kill, Conquor, and Destroy.
Honestly he’s like a Saiyan. Imagine if Goku had never fallen on his head and just stayed evil, this is what would’ve happened.
Well, it was literally supposed to be: “What if Superman was evil?”
Not wanting a ultra powerful incel to take over the world and kills roasties.
I like how they played his strange mindset at all times, it fits perfectly as him being Alien should have a very weird way to process everything. Exactly what's so wrong and annoying about superman is that he is basically a human with regular human thoughts, but with God powers. Lame and cheap.
>Momma Grace did not review his movie.
Lol wtf she hate it so much?
How did she know it was him tho?
It's a lame evil superman ripoff
It's strongly implied that he's a sociopath from the start--no ability to empathize or place himself in the shoes of others. It's also (going off memory, haven't seen since it was in theaters) implied he has an instinctive drive to dominate. Once the voice becomes clear he pretty much stops feeling any attachment to humanity or hesitation.
for the longest time she refused to give it anymore publicity and would not say why. Eventually she talked about it and said it was because it promoted a harmful message and it was dangerous to do so in the current world we live in.
Also, she just has it out for James Gunn.
>a harmful message
Like every fucking rated R horror or violent film? This bitch just hates Gunn I think. If his GOTG films sucked she would straight up say hes a wash up director. I bet she hopes SS2 sucks so she can open up on him.
Brightburn was literally just a shitty, edgy American version of the first arc of Dragonball.
>Alien baby is sent to earth to eradicate the human species when it grows
>Plot happens and the alien baby forgets their mission
>Alien baby grows up into a superpowered child
>Only diverges in that Goku was a pretty cool guy and the brightburn kid was a "subversive" hollywood cliche.
THE BOY IS INSANELY CUTE
Try giving am ancient Babylonian an automated rifle and see what happens.
He was in a really lazy movie.
>It's literally Superman, beat for beat, but...he's bad!
as a DC fan and superman fan, it was fucking character assassination, and when the character was already ruined by WB.
I'm very bored of "what if Superman was A BAD GUY" stories.
Thought that was Asa Butterfield.
It peaked with Captain Hero.
What a wasted concept.
It's just the story of Boy K from Shinsekai Yori but shittier. What a shame.
........actually yes.
