UPCOMING MUSICAL BIOPICS

What will be kino?

>RESPECT, Aretha Franklin biopic starring Jennifer Hudson.

>STARDUST, David Bowie biopic starring Johnny Flynn. No big studios picked it up and they couldn't secure the rights to any of Bowie's songs, so the movie will be about the one weekend Bowie created the Ziggy Stardust persona.

>THE POWER OF LOVE, Celine Dion biopic, but it's a VELVET GOLDMINE situation where it's a fictional facsimile, still using her songs, though.

>ELVIS, starring Austin Butler as Elvis and Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker.

>BERNSTEIN, Leonard Bernstein biopic directed and starring Bradley Cooper.

>Bee Gees biopic, potentially starring Bradley Cooper.
>Boy George biopic, and Boy George himself is pushing for Sophie Turner to play him.
>Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothée Chalamet.
>Marianne Faithful biopic starring Lucy Boynton.
>Teddy Pendergrass biopic starring Tyrese Gibson.
>Madonna biopic, done without Madonna's consent. She is vocally against it.
>Michael Jackson biopic from the same producers as BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY.
>Carole King biopic, produced by Tom Hanks.
>Bob Marley biopic, produced by his son.
>U2 biopic, pushed by the band itself.
>Amy Winehouse biopic.
>Gucci Mane biopic.
>Bill Monroe biopic.
>Helen Reddy biopic.
>John Lennon & Yoko One biopic.

>>U2 biopic, pushed by the band itself.

typical arrogant fuckheads

>Bob Marley biopic, produced by his son.
Sounds nice. Only one I would consider seeing and Marley isn't even my favorite artist on this list.

>BERNSTEIN, Leonard Bernstein biopic directed and starring Bradley Cooper.
This one sounds interesting. Bernstein was a complex man, and Cooper is probably the best actor of those listed above. It also seems to have the most potential of being a serious biopic and not just boomer pandering.

There already is a Michael Jackson biopic. It's called The Jacksons: An American dream.

>>Boy George biopic, and Boy George himself is pushing for Sophie Turner to play him
Good casting tBh

>Marianne Faithful biopic starring Lucy Boynton.

I will see it just for my wife

There hasn't been a good one of these films since Walk The Line.

Similar thing happened with Lords of Chaos.

>inb4 90% of those biopics will be named after one of the artist's songs

Rocketman was actuallt pretty good. Bohemian Rhapsody was absolute trash though.

For me, it'll always be

>BERNSTEIN, Leonard Bernstein biopic directed and starring Bradley Cooper.

Okay this one is sick

>>STARDUST, David Bowie biopic starring Johnny Flynn. No big studios picked it up and they couldn't secure the rights to any of Bowie's songs, so the movie will be about the one weekend Bowie created the Ziggy Stardust persona.
DOA

Cute.

left
>calm, cool, in control
right
>screaming bloody murder

That's not a bad casting for Aretha, but there's no way the writing won't be more ham fisted than the queen herself.

David Bowie biopic directed by Lynch would be kino.

when is my man bill burr playing billy corgan in the smashing pumpkins biopic

Prince biopic staring Dave Chappelle playing it totally straight fucking when?

>the movie will be about the one weekend Bowie created the Ziggy Stardust persona.

That's not a bad idea. I've often thought you can do more with that sort of limited scenario than with some prolonged shambling conventional "biopic".

SUCCESSFUL MUSICIANS ARE BORING STOP MAKING BIOPICS

Are you a nigger?

>I've often thought you can do more with that sort of limited scenario than with some prolonged shambling conventional "biopic".
True, but "creating Ziggy Stardust" is the most boring and safe Bowie scenario you could tackle.
They should be doing Thin White Duke era Bowie instead, where he's consuming nothing but cocaine, milk and red peppers, cheating on his wife with black chicks, and going on fascist rants.
Or Berlin Bowie would be cool too; A Bowie and Iggy Pop buddy movie.

This is the new Capeshit isn't it.

Drama biopics on famous musicians.

>A Bowie and Iggy Pop buddy movie

YOU'RE A LOOSE CANNON BOWIE TURN IN YOUR BADGE
