How to make them better

what slight changes and what big changes could've done the most good for these movies?

You can't change it. They were born out of George Lucas's insane genius, and if you meddle with that you mess up the whole thing. Just be thankful that he got it mostly right, and we get to enjoy the kino

Literally the only problem with this trilogy is that most of The Phantom Menace was shot on film instead of digital

Make it a love triangle between Padme, Anakin, & Obi Wan, giving a much better reason than some vague shit that makes the Jedi look like totally oblivious dumbasses for Anakin's turn; and also stop the whiny flip flopping shit Anakin does. Soon as he butchered the Tuskins he was a Sith.

is that why it feels so disconnected from the other 2? not to mention the 10 year time difference, of course.

so he'd be a sith halfway through the second movie? then what happens for the other movie-and-a-half?

We get to see Vader as he should have been pre-iron-lung-suit for a movie & a half, not a disappointing half hour right at the very end.

>Make it a love triangle between Padme, Anakin, & Obi Wan

Nah lets leave that shit to YA dystopia thanks

Trying to make the whole trilogy just build up to him becoming Vader was a mistake. George pretty much crammed all of the ruthlessness of Vader into one off-screen killing of younglings.

By not changing anything

go back

George would've botched it anyway because he's clearly shit at writing love scenes & their dialogue.

Would explain the whole
>"You turned her against me"

...to 1998 & replan this whole shit, yes, I agree.

Change the actor for young Anakin
Remove the youngling slaughter scene, it makes his character way too evil and makes him way harder to sympathize with.

how would the clone wars work? also, anakin and obi-wan were friends before he turned to the dark side, and they definitely weren't good friends in episode 2

That's the point detective

iirc there was actually gonna be some of that before rewrites. i watched the director's commentary of episode 3 the other day, and obi-wan is put in anakin's second dream about padme being pregnant to make him jealous/suspicious.

That's retarded, he could never redeem himself for that, at least everything else he did was in the name of war

You can redeem yourself from any sin, except for denying the existence of the Holy Spirit

Should've just scrapped his whole young childhood depiction anyway, the "virgin birth" shit was stupid & never explained in the films in any detail, when it clearly should have been if it was going to be introduced at all. TPM should've been his padawan days & the start of his turn.

>he could never redeem himself for that
Nobody is truly irredeemable, not while they still live. You might not be able to make up for shit you've done, but one can always attempt. If you take that away from people then they'll just say "fuck it" & continue being cunts.

best thing that could have been done was to skip the first film of anakin being a kid and instead him being luke's age when obi wan finds him and the two go on an adventure where they bond during the first film as anakin learns the ways of the force

That kind of makes God seem like a really egomaniacal cunt, dunnit?
>you can totally rape a baby while flaying them, just make sure you still believe in me & don't talk shit about me again afterwards

what about qui gon and padme?

Anakin can't compete with the Evian bottle

I mean, yeah. The whole thing with Christianity is that it's all about God being forgiving, an idea that wasn't very common before Christ. It's odd that the only thing God won't forgive you for is denying the existence of the Holy Sprit, and it doesn't make people who have already denied the existence of the Holy Spirit want to change their minds about it. It's also mentioned in three out of the four Gospels

pardon

>It's odd that the only thing God won't forgive you for is denying the existence of the Holy Sprit
You can't give the religion itself power without severe penalty for denying its "sole" truthfulness.

I would get rid of the Chosen One shit, for starters. It was a stupid, lazy idea that added nothing.

I posted a reworking of Episode 1 a couple of years ago. I've been thinking about Episode 2.
Some of the ideas in the actual movies are good, they just have to be put into more of a coherent plot.

>he doesn't know

what did they mean by this?

Aside from rewriting and redoing them entirely, nothing.

The prequels never worked because they were too immature. The original trilogy is a simple tale of good vs evil, and the prequels wanted to follow suit. However the idea of turning evil needs to be done alot more subtly, and shown that good and evil aren't necessary as black and white, otherwise its just wacky.

My idea is they should have simply just retold the story of Julius Caesar set in space, with amped up ideas of morality or some shit.

>tfw you only signed onto this shit to meet & work with Mathilda
>but she's not there for the filming of your scenes & ghosts you

The first problem is Jake Lloyd, he is too young and he can't deliver the lines well. Get a bit of an older teenaged hearthrob, think a young Leo or River Phoenix.
The second problem is that he spends too much time establishing things that should have been left for cartoons, comics, and videogames to fill in, focus on the main trio of Anakin, Padme, and Obi Wan rather spread screen time out so much among so many characters, the only person who should get decent screen time other than them is Sheev and I guess Qui Gon in the first.
Lastly I think he should have had the Jedi being overthrown and hunted down in the 2nd or maybe even first movie with Anakin betraying them in the final film, focusing on the downfall of the Jedi with the civil war stuff more sort of in the background.
